I have never been a member of a watch forum that i have felt so unwelcome. I make almost daily posts that take considerably time and effort and the old guard here put down most of my posts in a condescending manner. There are too many threads that are "taken over" by another member trying to one-up the pictures I take or to make negative comments about my choices. I go out of my way in presenting watches in my collection so that all can see them in natural light and in the "flesh". I am here to spread my knowledge of Panerai. I am more than worthy of being here...but am tired of proving it.

Well, I don't see what you mean.

Ylou post pics of your watches, and you perfectly know that there is a risk all your watches may not please to everybody.

This is not a risk, this is certain.

And some of your watches will please a lot.

That's the game, my friend.

And that's the interest of a forum: To discuss, to have convergent or divergent points of view.

Look at your last post: You asked which was the Bomba.

You took the risk to get the answers you received, and that's not a problem at all.

You're right, you asked the good question, and you knew in advance it will be answered this way.

You have a damn collection, and as I said, everybody here doens't have the same taste.

So, calm down, take a breath, and enjoy!

I always admired your big pictures
of my favorite manufacture and I can tell you that more than one is saved to my HDD :0)
and as I can see looking down few pages on Panerai forum you received
more positive than negative comments.
We are all humans and we all make errors
I'm not trying to preach you here
but think that leaving would be an error
Don't discard many cos of few and keep 'em coming

The Purists are great bunch and very welcoming. There's no need for anyone to prove themselves here. I've been traveling so I just reviewed this forum and haven't found any evidence of anyone putting down your post  in a condescending manner nor is anyone trying to 'one-up' anyone else.

As Amanico stated, just relax and enjoy the forums. Honestly your photos are nice but please, don't be so self centered to think that your pictures are that great. But hey if you feel the need to go, best of luck to you.

I, for instance enjoy your pics (i'm not a huge Panerai-fan) and so do others here. We don't always have the time to make a reply (whether it be positive or negative) but we sure do enjoy your posts.

Your collection is something i can only dream about .... sooo .... please ... let me dream on ....

And i can assure you most of us here are simple enjoyable guys trying to have fun ....

Which thread are you referring to that you feel unwelcome?  Your recent threads don't have any negative criticism or attacks on you, so I'm really baffled at why you feel this way.

Please explain further because I do not see what you're referring to.

I am sorry to hear that. To be quite honest, I have noticed a sentiment that verges on the arrogant ever so slightly on this forum a few times, and it might have been the same with you, but I personally love the excitement of so many here and the interesting questions and pictures people post, so please continue to be one of them, just for the sake of more post-passive members like me. It might be that some people who are not native English speakers (like me) are not aware of how their sometimes rather poorly chosen words might be conceived, and some people are simply not very subtle, including moderators of fora like this one. A few months ago I complained to another forum about rather racist-sounding jokes, and it took quite some convincing on the part of the moderator before my initial post – complaint – was left open, but it was moved nonetheless, since it "had nothing to do with watches" (which I think is a dangerously irresponsible view). To me a forum like this one is about sharing experiences and information, and creating a community of people with a shared love of something (I avoid the word "interest" since that is not strong enough), and if you feel we/they don't want you to fit in for no good reason, then that is indeed a shame, but I strongly doubt that is the case here. Certainly does not apply to me.

("accusations" might be a bit strong, but probably appropriate) you make about this forum, its moderators, and participants.

We do take matters of courtesy and community respect very seriously; the "tone" of the site is as important to us as the "content."

On the other hand, life is about making choices, and it is our privilege, but also our burden, and responsibility, to "guide" this community as we see fit. What is not obvious are the deeper, more complicated issues that don't concern the "general community" but which would definitely effect the "overall experience" for all if not addressed by the moderators and management of the site.

Most end up being judgement calls.

We don't hold ourselves to be perfect, nor do we feel we always have the "right answers."

But I do hope we remain consistent and loyal to our founding principles, and always remain open to legitimate expressions of concern.

Specific examples would be helpful, of course; general statements where we ourselves don't see the underlying or causal specifics only add to frustration and possible misunderstanding.

I really do not understand , like Anthony here , in which of your threads did someone post something that negative that you feel this way?

I for one definitely enjoy your posts, and in fact even reply to virtually all of them!

I admire and salute your photographic skills, which are always soooo sharp, and the colour contrasts are amazing!

I'd wish you were here to take photos of my watches!

And on top of that, your collection of Pannies are to die for!

And trust me on this, but the PuristS pro is one of the, if not the most, polite forums there are out there! I myself have had bad experiences in other sites, but the friendliness and the respect I get around here makes me a PuristS for life!

I hope you stay on here, cause you are definitely always more than welcomed by us!

You sound like a 12 year old spoilt brat!!!! Unbelievable!!! Good ridance IMO!!! I visit this forum to enjoy every bodies positive input about watches! Not to endure childish, egotistical rants like that!!

The PuristSPro moderator team does not have the time nor energy to waste on these baseless ranting posts.
