Officine Panerai

Okay I just ordered a PAM 317 that I thought I would receive in December (or that was what I was originally lead to believe) but seems that it will only arrive in March 2009 (not a problem waited 6 months to get my Rolex Milgauss).  Does anyone already have one?  Anyone what to tell me that I made the right choice?

I already have a PAM 119 that I very much enjoy.

It does seem to be slated for 09 delivery but I wouldn't be surprised if there're one or two early production pieces available for sale at the newly opened NY Boutique.   Good luck!

The Panerai ceramic suxx, opposite to the ceramic of IWC, who is compact, heavy, and look like dark brushed steel or titanium, the Panerai ceramic is light, really mat, the black look like used plastic of a Casio.

The watch is too thickt, the saphir glass as too much white reflect on the full black watch...

 

I prefer PAM311, cause there no matter with the material, the Titanium roxxing. The brown dial ("nesquick" in french ) is great... For me the PAM 311 is the beautiful Maniffatura since the begining of manuniffatura....

 

Message not clear you like it or you don't?  The 317 is strictly speeking the same size as the 311, so I don't see how only one of the two could be too thick.

As for the color it's a mat black (not plastic) and if I had wanted something shinny I would have chossen a Chanel J12.  For some reason I did not find that manly enough choice.

Anybody else think it looks like a Casio?

This having been said the 311 is very nice and it is the watch that lead me to discover the 317.

I don't buy for 17000€ the PAM317, and the 311 is better...

But iis your money.

Once you strap the PAM317 on your wrist, if it makes you giggle like a little child, then you know you made the right choice.  If you have even the slightest dubious thought when you 1st strap on the watch, then you know you probably will eventually trade it or sell it.  That's just my personal opinon from past experience.

If you're buying the PAM317 without having seen one in person, this is one of the few models that will probably definitely impress you and hopefully you'll fall in the former, rather than the later as mentioned above.

Thanks Anthony and Alepos for your uplifting answers. I think that it is fair to say that when I saw the picture of the watch it was love at first sight and that I have no doubt that I will be over joyed the day I receive it (just have to waite now).

Also my regular jewler gave me advice and he usually knows what he is talking about.

Then why hesitate other than the obvious such as you already have several Panerai watches and/or might need to part with one or two to acquire a PAM 317.

I ordered mine on the spure of the moment at my regular watch dealer when I was shopping with a collegue to buy an Xmas present for his mother.  Don't regret my gest one moment.  Just can't stand the waite.
