After almost 1 year I still don't know if I like it or not. This could be the most collectible but imo a 232 looks better

The Cali is an unique dial, you'll never see again, if Panerai doesn't make another OOR series.

It has a great personnality, IMO.

The Brown dial of the 232 is indeed a very nice one, but all the 3646 which are a clear inpsiration for the 232 never came with a brown dial...

So..so...LOL

I think that it's very personnal, if you have to choose, but my advice would be to pick both 232 and 249...

This is a great pair, a philosophically correct pair, something to grab before all the people jump on it.

Very nice pics! I think you're right, the 249 is a nice piece and very interesting for collectors, but the 232 is the more pretty of the 2 and that's what gives me personally most pleasure when it's on the wrist.

Having had both,I decided to keep only one - the Cali.

I have both Cali and 232, and each gives me pleasure to wear it on as each has its own unique appeal as Nad mentioned.

However, I believe the 249 will be the last reproduction of the California dial and Panerai will not come up with it again. So,  this must be one of the Grail to own.
