hi all,
i'm considering buying my first panerai (either 111 or 177) and i've read some confusing information. i'm guessing that i'm misunderstanding the differences, but i'm sure someone here can straighten me out.
the 2007 panerai catalog indicates that the watches in the historic collection have an 8-day Angelus movement, but the web site indicates a 56-hour power reserve. i was wondering which it is.

the Angelus movement was in the old, original versions that gave inspiration to the creation of the historic collection. Inside the historics is a modified Unitas movement with around 56 hours of power reserve.

Well, the historic Panerai watches have a Power Reserve of 56 hours, based on the ETA movement...
The only Historic watch with a 8 Days Angelus movement is the Pam 203, a LE of 150 pieces launched in 2005.
The ETA Movement used by Panerai is curiously and very interrestingly designed as a Rolex Cortebert movement.
BUT, The " Manufactured " movements like the P 2002 8 Days Power Reserve are designed from the Angelus movement, clearly...
And they, as the Angelus, have a 8 days, sometimes 10 Days, power Reserve...
