Officine Panerai

I can't decide watch i should get as my first panerai.  Both watches have features i like,  like the sandwich dial and see thru back on the pam 111 and the  005 with the OP logo on the dial and is about $800 cheaper.  Neways called my local ad and they don't have either watch in stock and was told the pam 111 would be available in may and the pam 005 would take til june or july.   I want to place my order tommorrow but can't decide which one.  Some opinions and pics of both watches would be much appreciated.  Thx

It is always good to have problems like yours.

There is no wright and wrong answer you are however taking the right approach to a first purchase which is through your local AD.. Always a good place to start your experience with the brand.

As to which one the answer is always buy the one that signs to you.  Due to the fact that they are both Luminors it boils down to the look of the dial as they should both sit on your wrist in similar  fashion as the are 44mm.  

Here is my "Zero"  PAM 000 which like the 005 sans subseconds.




You can't go wrong with either.

..welcome to the forum. It's always nice to have new purist joining  and sharing.

The 005 is my first step of Panerai journey. I love to strap my experience with the Logo, therefore my choices were down to 2...the Zero or the Five. I love to see some movement on the dial..so my ultimate choice is the 005. That was my whole story of making decision.

Both are nice. Please keep us update your move.

You will see, at the end of your post, you will get 50% 000, and 50% 005! LOL
I'd say that if you really want a Logo, go to the 000, this is the evocation of the only LOgo pre vendome watch which existed...

The best solution may be to take your time and hunt a Pam 2 ( Base ) with tritium dial, or Pam 1 with tritium dial too, much nicer, but also much more expensive...

Your 2nd PAM will most likely have a sandwich dial and a display back, so get the PAM5 first.

I decided with everyone's help to order the pam 5.  Now comes hard part, the wait for the watch to come in june or july.   At least it'll give me time to get some straps for it. 

Thanks again for everyone's help, and hopefully by june I'll be able to put up pics of my new pam .

I have my eye on a 005 myself.

I hope the time flies by so fast so next thing you'll know, your PAM5 will be on your wrist!
