folka, posted same query on another forum, but thought I'd play it safe by posting here again. just got a pam 233 and was winding it up to a full 8 days. Didn't hit a friction point like my other hand wounds so I thought I'd ask other owners if I should have felt it once I got past 8 days. appreciate any insight as I fear 'overwinding'

I have not felt any resistance either but I don't care to push it. You always get more than 8 days. Almost 10!.

Was wondering the same, haven't pushed my 233 too much further than the indicator but never seem to hit any resistance either, have read elsewhere on PuristSPro that there is possibly some kind of clutch?

Can't resist giving it a little wind every day anyway so it normally just sits around the 7 day mark! Don't push it!

spoke w/ Ricky at the Panerai Boutique in Hong Kong. There is a clutch to prevent overwinding so you won't hit a friction point. Excellent!

Thanks for letting me know! For your interest (maybe you already know), I read on here somewhere that the 8 days is actually more like 10, so now I know about the clutch,  I might time it, when I get around to it!

By the way, what do you think of the new arrivals? I love the PVD movenet in the 317 but as a watch, I wouldn't swap it for my 233, not a chance! And it's nearly twice the price! Too much going on with the extra Chrono feature, where as the 233 is still 'simple' and realisticly functional.
