Officine Panerai

Fellow friends, I have the opportunity to purchase one of the two PAMs.  One of them is from an AD nearby while the other is a NIB from a trusted reseller.  I'm contemplating between the two as both are very hard to come by and I'm so lucky to come across both but at the same time??! Can only afford one... and can't afford to wait too long!  In terms of looks, I feel that the PAM 233 looks neat and suits my taste of sporty and masculine while the PAM 268 is more stylish, elegant and classic.  In terms of rarity, Im not quite sure which would be considered more than the other.  I love the fact that both are 8-days power reserve, stainless steel and are 45mm. Big dilemma... which one?? Expert advise required pls!! Regards 

I have the 233 and I think it has struck a great balance between sport and dressy. 

Regarding access they are both standard production and not limited editions so, even though they are hard to come by,  they should continue to be available for any AD over the months and years to come.

They are both great at the end the day it is really a matter of style.

PAM233 is the era of in house movement by Panerai its the symbol of 1950 new era of panerai.It posesses the signature trademark "water proof lock",that will be most recognised signature of the brand.Therefore,i go after the PAM233 also instead of 268.If $$$ permits me,in the future i might go after 268.As Bill mentioned earlier it will continue to flows in the market although tough to get in the market.

In terms of rarity, both the PAM233 and PAM268 are regular production watches so I wouldn't consider one more rare than the other.

Do you currently have any Panerai's?  If so, which ones?  Radiomirs or Luminors?

If this is going to be your 1st Panerai and your only Panerai for a long time, then I would choose the PAM233 because your 1st Panerai should really be a Luminor IMO.  The trademark crown protector is distinctive Panerai

If you already have a Luminor, then I'd definitely get the PAM268 instead.

As a Panerai collecter I agree that your first one should be a Luminor, and the 233 should be easy to sell in the future.  my current collection 88, 25, 250, 113, 177.  One i sold 118, 183, and fiddy

fiddy base whenever that comes out.  It's only a matter of time when Panerai makes the 47mm 1950 base IMO
