While wearing my PAM 190. Still my favorite Panerai. I am quite satisfied with this one and don’t plan to sell it. I am sure it’s worth a lot less than what I paid for.

Owned that watch for years. Definite favourite of mine.
And a fantastic PAM to own, albeit not a purists choice like the 232 and some other Rads.
I think I sold mine in 2013 or so; and I’m pretty sure the prices today while a little lower are only lower by 10-20%.
If we can buy watches, enjoy watches, and if needed sell watches in a range of +/- 20% then I think pretty much all of us would be happy.
Regardless of my recent previous comments I do love the brand (lots of Italian blood in me) and do still have a few I plan to keep. Requiring a watch to go up in value is massively limiting,
even silly with all things considered. I do agree that big is better for a Panerai but I've now shrunk enough for me 933 to look big on my 6.5" wrist.

I am totally with you.
I actually am less concerned about Panerai DNA but more interested in the older panerais with interesting movements. That’s what drew me to 190. I also want to pick up a 72 or 74 with El Primero chronograph and Pam 518,519 or 520 with Minerva movement. Hope I can score one without breaking the bank

Get what you like. If you buy quality it always comes back. Your piece is beautiful.
I lose money on most of my watches. But we should not forget to count
The emotional moments we spent hunting, buying and wearing them. That has a value too. So enjoy the hobby. Worry less live more.
I still think the JLC movement....
..inside of the 190 (I had a 197) is the smoothest I've handled. I've been lucky (I think) in my Panerai journey. Yes, I've bought "fashionable", limited edition models but, and for me is a BIG but, I bought watches I liked....first! All the models I bought for different reasons, I've let go (mostly for a song and a dace), not long after having bought them. The rest, is still with me and the idea of selling them, never really crossed my mind. Lately I turned some of them into nice gifts for people I care about and like them. The others (and there are still quite a few of them) will stay with me, till the end. The market value, devastated by the "tourists", that IMO, knew the price of everything and the value of nothing, has never guided my choices. Lucky? A simpleton? Never gave it a 2nd thought Ciao
