The missus and I went out for a simple dinner last night to celebrate 15 years of friendship, togetherness and commitment to continue to work through issues that will inevitably arise.
Me not being a foodie (and would be much happier if I did not have to eat
) was at a loss of where to go. Wife suggested somewhere at Marina Bay Sands which prompted my instinctive next move to call good buddy Horogasm on where to go. Horogasam knows I ain;t a foodie and am not the biggest fan of fancy, long and drawn out food related affairs so he suggested CUT, one of the best steak joints in town or so he says (I really would not know
). CUT however only had a table free from 9.30 and being a work and school night, that was not good so Gasm kindly took the initiatve and effort to make a reservation on my behalf at DB Bistro... I just had to show up, order and enjoy.
I'll let the pics tell the tale and will recommend this place for anyone visiting if you want good enough fare in a less than stuffy and formal ambience but yet, not overly casual..

A great Tomato soup which I started and then remembered to take a pic

A very refreshing and light Tomato salad ...

Boston scallops as the main..

This is a damn good choco based desert.. I forget whatthey call it but its greata dn not overly rich...

... that's an important milestone to celebrate.
And at least you had someone's hand to hold at DB Bistro. Click here for my experience ...
Nice watch pair too.
Hope the future is bright as well.

and yes, the wine we had was also very nice. Again, I am no wine expert. My wife had a Pinot Noir of sorts to go with her pasta and I had a white to blend with the scallops.
I have had some very memorable meals in Singapore, Arthur. You guys are very well blessed with restaurants at all levels.
Here's some other experiences ...
Iggy's at the Regent, Au Jardin, Gunther's ...
More to come ...

It'll be 25 years of marriage this September and I couldn't possibly think I'd even happier than I am now.
Food question: Did the Boston Scallops taste fresh? I work in Boston, Mass and Singapore is a loooooong ways away to keep the bivalves really fresh.
