The enhanced 3.8-liter flat-six engine generates 400 hp at 7,400 rpm. With a Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), the sprint from 0 to 60 mph is completed in just 4.1 seconds, all the way up to a top speed of 187 mph. On one hand, I think the designers are constrained by design philosophy of the 911. But look at what Ferrari has done...from the 328-348-355-360-430-458.....the if you parked them in a line, you can see the Pinifarina lineage, and rear engined RWD V8s...all inspired by F1, and there is clear evolution. Why can't the 911 designers do similar? Maybe I am too harsh. And the countless and useless proliferation of 911 models and limited editions....exactly like the APs and Hublots of the watch world is doing. If push comes to shove, I would say 911 C2 and Turbo would be the 2 models with the most transparent lineage, but I do wish there is a more radical redesign.

It's amazing just how little the car has evolved over the last generation. No doubt it will be an amazing car, all the more so when the new GT3 series comes out.... But I can't help but not feel any emotion when looking at the new car from the outside.
