...Starbucks coffee flavored ice creams?  I like coffee itself, but don't seem to enjoy coffee-flavored things like ice cream or tiramisu, generally.  I find it so weird that I can like a food, but not items flavored with it.  I have a friend whose long-time favorite ice cream flavor is Jamocha Almond Fudge.

I agree, Graham!  Both brands make a good cookies & cream flavor.  Ben & Jerry's has a new-ish flavor (introduced last year, I think) called "Milk & Cookies" which is like their Sweet Cream & Cookies on steroids.  Look for it!  My greatest disappointment in ice cream land recently was Ben & Jerry's Boston Cream Pie which is cream pie ice cream with yellow cake pieces, chocolate pieces and pastry cream swirl (this is what I was most excited by at the time).  It was too sweet and it needed more chocolate IMO.  Creme Brulee flavor was another disappointment from B&J.  I am hunting for the new "Late Night Snack" flavor B&J, but it has been SOLD OUT at my local grocery store for two weeks at least.  It's vanilla ice cream with a swirl of salted caramel and chocolate covered potato chips!  Sounds AWESOME!!!! 

Chocolate + potato chips=heaven!

my favorite "different" flavor is Thifty's Rainbow Sherbert.  It's a tart flavor but somehow very tasty.

The local gelato place has an excellent version!    My favorite fruity ice cream is strawberry, followed by peach.  I like all the summery flavors.

Some of the date producers make their own ice cream and stuff like date shakes.

. . . Follow Your Heart in Canoga Park has non-dairy date shakes that I'll stop in for every once in a while, but I'd break my vegetarian diet for a scoop or two of Baskin Robbins date ice cream . . .

There's a new vegan ice cream place near my work that I'm interested in trying -- more as a scary experiment than anything else.  I'm perfectly happy with real ice cream.

Oatmeal Cookie Chunk is MY favorite flavor as well. The sad part is, it's actually one of the harder flavors to find. It's not quite as popular as some of the other B&J's flavors, and it doesn't get much love (except from me).

I'd say a close favorite is Phish food. B&J is definitely a favorite go-to for a quick sweet fix. It's arguable that there are "better" ice creams out there, but for me, I always keep coming back to Ben & Jerry.

The Oatmeal Cookie Chunk is definitely not easy to find everywhere.  I love it!  There's just the right amount of cinnamon in the ice cream base.  Keep an eye out for that new Late Night Snack flavor.  I'm dying to try it, and it's been sold out at my store for weeks!
