I've been dreaming about the move for many years
and can't wait. I've got the Ducati covered, I have a 996 and 1098 but I use the R6 on the track as the ducs are to pretty to throw away. Even at my super slow pace I almost high sided myself coming out of a corner too hot on very worn out tires. After that I did a cool down lap and loaded the bike up for the afternoon LOL.

at one point in my younger days
I actually raced and was semi fast, but desire to stay in one piece was very much at odds with having the killer instinct to be a really good racer. I actually won a few races, but they were always wet races and I normally won with the turtle strategy of stay on the bike while others crashed.

...on a Police bike you have a radio....hard to outrun that.
What did you think of the Estoril round? Stoner....lost the front. Spies....lost the back (on the warm-up....what?). Good fight between Simoncelli and Dovi. And Lorenzo gave Rossi a riding lesson: Sandbag for 13 laps and then wander off into a 8 second lead...
125s were good. Well, Marquez was. He is really after the title...

par for the course, loved the fighting in the pack. i know you'll disagree but
the moto2 was excellent. sofuoglu(or something like that) first time on moto2,
first time on slicks, no dry practice, qualified 4th, out to the front for the
first 10 laps until he got swallowed up. the lack of dry practice mixed
everything up and made it more fun. marquez needs to learn a bit of self
preservation then he'll be a future multi world champion.
The racing...
...in Moto2 is generally brilliant. Iannone and Elias....and the late Tomizawa...Watching the bikes backing into Honda Corner at Phillip island was fun (not as fun as watching Stoner in turn 3 or Siberia, though) and they really allow the rider to dominate the bike. Sof...sofogl...sofugu..the Turkish rider is great. I recall watching him in his first couple of seasons in Supersport. Just brilliant.
It's just the loss of the most finely honed bikes of all - 250GP 2-strokes- that gets me down Having seen them up close, so many of the Moto2 bikes are almost agricultural...but necessary given the lack of $ around the paddock.
As for Marquez. I agree. But then it's easier to teach a fast rider not to crash, than to teach a slow rider to be fast....

Which track did you visit?
The guy on #19 in the photos below also has a R6 for a track bike (as opposed to his 125 race bike), I think it's a 07 model, which he's finally (according to his standards as an A-grade racer...) gotten to grips with. Strange as he's 6'1" and felt more at home on a 125...
