And speaking of the 80's, was in Vegas over the weekend so I'm trying to upload some videos I took from some of the parties that had some songs that really brought flashbacks from the 80's. Will share shortly!

Phil Collins - Easy Lover.

thats it, 10 which was pretty hard as there are loads of seminal tracks from that period that mean a lot to me. as you can see i was heavily into Prog rock and bands that had been around for a fair while.

its weird Snak, but i seem to have listed a lot
of slow ballads even though i was a heavy rocker. i think that shows my
musical profession coming out in my choices. most of my musical listening
was done while i was at school and in the army as a musician.
once i got married and had kids i seemed to stop
listening. i've only really got back into it in the last 10 years. my cd
collection is full of 'complete collections' of bands i didnt really listen too
when they were first around.
i'm listening to Syd Barrett and some of the
early Floyd stuff at the moment. its in the car along with seasick steve, a
modern phenomenon.

i have all the Brand X stuff on CD, but its not
amongst my favourites. it needs too much concentration, but if you like
Jazz/rock Fusion you should listen to the Ian Gillan Band - Clear Air
Turbulance. one of the first albums he released after leaving deep purple. until
you hear his voice you'd never know it was him.
another Ian Gillan classic is the soundtrack to
Jesus Christ Superstar when he was on stage playing the leading
role.

(2) Battle of Evermore - the mystical masterpiece from Led Zep IV.
(3) The First Cut is the Deepest by Rod Stewart - I know it's a Cat Stevens song, but Rod's version rules.
(4) Psycho Killer - brilliant lyrics from the Talking Heads.
(5) Back on the Chain Gang - Pretenders, not Sam Cooke (and yes, I adore Sam Cooke's version, too!).
(6) Behind Blue Eyes - special memories of this Who classic: it was the soundtrack for a student video that had Richard Nixon as it's subject, and made during the height of the Watergate scandal. [I was told by a former classmate that the student who made the film went on to win an Academy Award for animation in the '80s.]
(6) Handbags and Gladrags - gotta hand it to Rod again.
(7) The Wind by Cat Stevens - perhaps the closest to my heart of all.

there's no need to worry about feeling old. when
i look at your list i feel old as i was a fully grown working adult when
those were released rather than a young adult as i'm sure you were. most of your
bands are still around now, but most of mine are 6 feet under
against all odds, a superb track. loved the
film, brings back romantic memories.
