I'm going on vacation today, YAY .  Although I'm extremely excited to start my vacation, I'm dreading the plane ride.  During one trip from West Coast to East Coast, a passenger sitting behind me kept on kicking my chair throughout the trip.  If it was a kid who was misbehaving, maybe it's more tolerable, however it was an inconsiderate adult!!!

Do anyone experience any "inconsiderate and annoying behaviors" when they travel?

Hello ATM!

There's always that one person that can't count and insists that you are sitting in their seat and after ten times telling them they are wrong, they realize that their seat is 2 rows back!  WTF?

Or when they call for boarding pass Zone 1 and all the Zone 4,5,6,7,8,and 9 stands in line blocking everyone else!  So annoying.

I just hope that on my next flight that no one will kick the back of my seat!

I had a window seat this time around and the guy sitting next to me is awesome, so it's been a good trip

so all u hear is an annoying buzzing noise throughout the trip.

I'm surprised that they don't go deaf with the volume that high.

you are wearing your Shure headphones.  I am oblivious to the world when I am wearing mine listening to Pink Floyd, Dire Straits or other great music.

From the people that put their elbows in your ribs, to the loud groups, kids that do not stop screaming, people that manage to spill their coke on your knees, people that are scared to death(poor guys) and get sick, no flight is ever quiet. The only flights I like are transcontinentals where there is more room between seats.
One receipt: great noise cancelling earphones and one sleeping pill. When you land ready to work or party.
Last thursday in the flight Munich Barcelona one guy which language was not to be understood, stood up in the middle of the flight and said :"jump, jump".
At the request of the stewardess(scared) we, (my two colleagues and myself) were asked to control him, the spanish guardia civil took over after landing. no one got more infos.
I hate to fly..

in the interest of all of us. In such a small plane (Canadair) you do not even have to restraint anybody, you just sit around.
but why does it always happen to me.
This is why I love to hit the road....

i'm not lucky enough to fly very often, last time was my honeymoon over 7 years ago, but trains are a big problem. self important business men on mobile phones all the way from Wales to London. teenagers with mp3 players that are so loud you can hear everything through the ear pieces. god help their ears. kids running up and down the aisles banging your knees everytime they pass, no room for your legs under the tables or behind the seat in front. i'm only 5'11'' so i feel for anyone bigger.

southwest trains now have 'quiet' carriages where mobiles and music is not allowed, but that doesnt seem to bother the others that use the carriages and still use mobiles all the time.

give me a car anytime, at least i just annoy myself

 

I see that trains are not much better!
I hate to fly short distance because you are constantly queueing, waiting, being disturbed.
On top of that you often have to take the bus from the plane to the terminal.
Seating in business does not make than any difference as the seats and the distance between seats is the same in continental flights
The last time I drove overnight there was a big accident and a road block for half an hour and I decided to step out of the car and enjoy the midnight lukewarm mediterranean air, filled my lungs and enjoyed the moment.
By the way the guy who invented the cellphone should be condemned to spend a couple of years with some italian teenagers in a school! LOL

Ironically, most people are not familiar with the proper etiquette and protocol when riding on commercial airliners.

The one thing that annoys me the most are people who hog the armrest (for those of you who've read my post about the First Class Terminal in Frankfurt, I wanted to clarify I was a guest of another First Class passenger and I was sitting in Coach where I usually spend my flights); theoretically, you get the right armrest to be all yours. I always try to get an aisle seat, but sometimes even then the passenger sitting next to me takes both of his armrests.

Passengers talking loudly or rudely is also very inconvenient, but what troubles me most are passengers who can't sit still. Imagine your neighbor's leg bouncing up and down like a vibrating pogo stick continuously, I don't normally try to micro-manage but this makes me question their upbringing as my parents taught me to sit still at a very young age and not to talk loudly.

When I fly, I usually fly overseas, so I would have to suffer over ten hours of an unpleasant neighbor

...all trips on all the airlines are terrible these days.

I used to travel to Europe (France) frequently, but the flights are so grueling, I've pretty much stopped. Go to Japan about once a year, and I can barely handle that. Hate to drop a lot of cash just on a plane ride. Money better spent on watches.

I've flown a lot in the past three years with different airlines and different classes.

In the instances where I have flown "cattle class" the self induced coma works well but more importantly, I try to fly red-eyes.  Most passangers are tired and families are less likely to select them.  I must say, under these circumstances, I have never had a bad experience.

However, here is a little story on how to annoy annoying passengers.  On one non-red eye cattle flight, I had a lady behind me being a real pain - bumping my chair, having more carry-on than allowed and demanding.  My strategy was simple, I was sitting next to a three year old (not mine) and started encouraging him to play.  His parents didn't mind since I was entertaining their kid (as parents do, any distraction is good). I slowly directed his attention toward the the woman and within no time, stuff animals and other things were being flung over my seat.  There was also lots of laughter and chair movement, so I am sure that any attempt to watch the inflight movie was an uncomfortable one.  It was a blast and one of my most enjoyable flights.

Of course, she would have considered the three year old and I the annoying passenger but a little tit-for-tat is always amusing on flights.

Babies are the scourge of the frequent traveller.

They cry.

They need bassinetts that hog the seats with best legroom.

They cry.

They are usually accompanied by obnoxious parents (any parent with a 3 month old is obnoxious by default - sleep deprived and cranky).

They cry.

They need all the carry on luggage space for a bazillion nappies, feed bottles, toys, blankies, clothes, rattles, nappies again.

They cry.

They slow down your ingress and egress.

Did I mention  -  they cry?

 

And apparently, strangling the little blighters is not allowed.............
