Joined several PuristS over the past weekend for a phenomenal dining experience at the newly opened Yazawa in Beverly Hills. 

The restaurant is small but comfortably spaced between tables.  The main wall is decorated with wine bottles in the shape of a cow.



Brought along my trusty AP RO Perpetual Calendar.

Our table all ordered the omakase that gave us a wide selection of wagyu beef to taste.  First course was an appetizer trio of wagyu beef tataki with ponzu jelly, wagyu tartare, and wagyu bresaola.

I have no idea where this salad came from.  Was pretty good, but the dried mushrooms were a little strange. 

first beef to grill was a plate of American wagyu of harami skirt and beef tongue, while the other grilled beef courses are Japanese A5 wagyu.

Next was the Yazawa signature dish, the yazawa-yaki A5 wagyu beef.

Cooked and served by our waitress, this was quickly grilled, and then a quick dip in the foamy egg.  Wow, this was amazing!

We added the chateaubriand to finish our meal

with a touch of freshly grated wasabi.

This was a fantastic meal and great conversations with several PuristS.  It's different from Totoraku the secret beef place, and I'm definitely coming back again.

Breakfast time here (OK, brunch) and you have me jonesing for wagyu already! Not fair!

Looks amazing...especially the chateaubriand...yum!

They also serve top quality yakiniku.

Hi romulux, you're right it is affiliated with the Yazawa in Singapore and Tokyo.  They just opened this one here in Beverly Hills in December.
Have you tried the one in Singapore?

Good stuff but not as easy on the wallet .
Is it located in La Cienega strip, along with Matsuhisa and Lawry's (the 2 places I frequent when I'm there) ? I usually go Korean when I feel like BBQ in LA. This message has been edited by romulux on 2016-03-13 06:51:41

It's Genwa Korean BBQ on La Cienega up from Lawry's and across from Matsuhisa.  Yazawa is nearby on little Santa Monica near Rodeo Drive.  We frequent these places as well, hope to share a meal with you on your next visit.
We enjoy Korean BBQ too, any places you would recommend?

But the few I frequent:

Nice, we're frequently at Road to Seoul and Chosun. Another favorite is Soowon Galbi and Parks. I've tried Kang Ho Dong once, but the long lines and parking going through the driveway is crazy.  Let us know the next time you're in town and we'll do a gtg at one of these places
