Omega Seamaster 300 Platinum?
While trying to learn more about the Omega Seamaster 300 issued last year, I visited the Omega Website, and learned that a limited edition of 357 pièces existed... In platinum.
And that the blue dial was in... Enamel?

Anyone here has some more informations to share on this one?
Is this really a blue enamel dial?
I am very curious to hear more détails on that version.

I saw for the Liquidmetal bezel. That is the enamel dial which surprises me the most.
I guess the retail is a nightmare on this one...

A platinum tool watch with an enamel dial? Hmmm...
Creates some cognitive dissonance...
Platinum is a great medium for high-end pieces.
An enamel dial is special, but precious.
But why blend the two together in a heritage tool watch?
I know...$, and that's OK, but the piece in its totality is too dissonant for me.
But I have to confess loving the overall aesthetics. Omega did a great job there (although they should dispense with the limited edition number on the dial)

100% my feelings, here. I love platinum, I love enamel, I don't find that consistent with
a diving Watch, but I damn love that!
Aah, ooh, yes, the LE writing was absolutely not necessary, as the rest of the mentionsn either: Omega, Seamaster 300 and Basta!

I feel that watch totally compelling. I have vented criticism at Omega in the past mostly in frustration in front of what appeared to me to be a continuous lack of ambition.

Not any more.... At the risk of repeating myself I feel the package of new material (liquid metal + double side anti-glare crystal + ti5) new technology (15k gauss resistance + own home made co-axial), totally compelling. From an aesthetic point of view the watch ain't bad either. I love it flying saucer-like flat and protuding blue bezel. I would have preferred a lollipop seconds hand but I can live with that "later" spear hand... The only let down, but what a let down is the clumsy design of the folding clasp. The vintage model was so attractive... All in all, a quantum leap. One that leaves direct competitors far behind in its trail.
Repeating myself again, I especially like the fact that this watch is both close, yet so much more advanced than its vintage counterpart. No mimicking. Based on the canons and the spirit of the old SM300, this new watch is not only that, a tribute, it is first and foremost a best in class... Irrespectively of its connection with the past.

I tried the limited platinum version yesterday
It is a beautiful watch. The weight is so substantial and impressive. Two problems: 1) for that money there are so many interesting alternatives. 2) It's hard to pay almost 10 x the steel version with the same engine inside

than the titanium blue. The only distraction is the limited edition writing on the dial. If they perceived it necessary it could have been more discreet. If it was priced like a gold rolex sub or gmt II, I would have bought it yesterday. It is a really cool watch that would totally fly under the radar. Only the wearer would know by looking at the beautiful dial or feeling the impressive weight on their wrist.

but I agree with you about the price being so much more while there is a similarity to other versions. You are right about questioning if it is worth.
