Omega

These ref. 2639 were made in large numbers, but i think they represents a lot of what i like about these old Omegas.

 

Fine case size, 36 mm, with out the crown, many dial designs, this one a bulls eye, the fine 30 mm. movement cal. 265 or 266, look at the picture of the timegrapher, ampitude 290 dg.  0 sek/day unknown service history.....

For me is an absolute wonder.

Even based on your info that these ref. 2639 were made in large numbers, the dial is amazing (reminds me some sort of art) beautiful.

It's a shame that those dials don't survive our (used to be) wet weather and all that I saw on my hunting have or a bad dial or a redone one.

Clean movement and ... it keeps ticking.

I meen i an horological sense, not rare, not special, not expensive etc.

I love these as much as a rare Railmaster or Speedmaster

Thats the way i collect my Omega´s

. . . for those very reasons.  The intrinsic mechanical quality of these humble references is on par with the more well known examples.  My appreciation for them is no less.
