I came home from work and first thing put it under a 7x loupe to see that you're absolutely correct to say there is a very slight gap under the 11 marker. Truly amazed at how you noticed that from the pic, which is far from that magnified. However, I then proceeded to check the original dial (which is clearly an original untouched unit) on the watch as well, and found many of its numerals also have this same gap, some with even a more pronounced one.
The numerals mount exactly on the slope of the dial and this seems to make it easier for them to have some small gap at points along the curved surface. I learnt from that, and look forward to any more you could teach me about how to look out for tell-tale redo signs on dials going ahead.
