Hi All,
With the recent Dynamic discussions (and my new acquisition!) I thought it would be fun to bring together as many Dynamics in the one thread as possible.
The Dynamic line was introduced in 1967 and the elliptical case and tapering strap were designed “especially for the human wrist” to fold around the ulnar styloid process. While the idea of ergonomic design, to allow humans to better (and more safely) interact with their surroundings and equipment, has been with us for a long time, the term “ergonomics” is attributed to Psychologist Hywel Murrell in 1949. The idea really took off in popular design in the 1960’s and the Dynamic grew out of this movement and also reflects the aesthetic sensibilities of the period. Omega produced Dynamics into the late 1970’s and there were many different variants over that period.
Looking forward to seeing your Dynamics …
Andrew

I've had a number over the years but my favourite is the bullseye in case 166.0039, seen below, which is now the only one I have in my collection.
Amazing, but after 30 odd years these watches still look contemporary and IMO are under-valued.
I did an essay some time ago on all the Dynamic models click here

Nice piece you have there mrsnak.
The "Third Generation" Dynamics are a 'homage' watch to WW2 military watches Andrew, although I have never heard of them having been actually delivered to the military.
They came in the chronograph and an automatic version driven by cal 1108. I believe first release was in 1997. I love the plainer dial of the autos and they really do, as does the chronograph, look military. I think theyre a sleeper and as they reach neo vintage there will be some strong collecting interest.

Excellent fusion of the two pics.
It would have made an excellent ad!

P.S. As you can see, I need a new strap (or bracelet)

Small by today's standards, but there was an official range of ladies-sized Dynamic's I believe. The mens size were 42mm across and the ladies 29mm.
This classic looks perfect on you, however.
Andrew

...not sure on the strap from new are soft enough, maybe Graham knows..? I have only old straps and bracelets
And will probably change the rest to bracelet.
Cheers
Hans
P.S. And yes, I got cheated by the closeup. I just looked again, it looks bigger than the mens size.

The strap apparently was replaced for a new one before it was put in a drawer and my dad hasn't worn it since the 80s. Can these be serviced by Omega still? Of course I'd like to keep everything original but the crown needs to be fixed. And also I was wondering if the strap version can have a bracelet put on?
