I must confess I am not knowledgeable as far as vintage longines and JLC watches are concerned but to find an all original 35.5mm steel Rg in that condition is a rare thing. And of course it is a special watch.

Do you think the applied gold roman numerals are not consistent with the otherwise technical nature of the watch?

Only after I posted the picture of the 3 watches did I notice that the LeCoultre and the Longines have the identical fonts.

Both serif fonts in a similar style, but not the same.
For the most part, these logo fonts were hand-lettered and trademarked with the differences.

Hand lettering was something I had to learn in art school

...and I'd certainly be tempted to take the Omega, as those gold Romans are killer, but I worry that I'd have a hard time winding it (I have trouble with those little, flat crowns!).  All three watches are such lovely examples of vintage horology.

Seems like the Chronometre wins compared to the Longines and the Jeager LeCoultre>
But wait, I have a follow-on question: Where does the Chronometre rank among great post-1930, vintage Omegas?
Vs the great chronographs (including, I guess, Speedmasters and Seamasters), Marines, Constellations and other fine and special Omegas.

i love the dial with roman numerals in gold with the thin leaf hands. unusual to see a steel one, i missed out on a gold one off fleabay so i could buy my 64 sm300, but it is possibly the best watch of its period IMO other than a 33.3 chrono.

having said that they are all very good watches and a tribute to the 40's.

3 excellent pieces for anyones collection with the Omega being something the majority of omega collectors would die for.

Incredible condition. Love them all, but espec. the Omega.
