1967 Speedmaster Professional Cal 321 (145.012) Pre Moon.

I've been wanting a 321 Pre Moon for a while now. So, I thought as long as I was selling some watches, I may as well sell one to get this. Very Happy with it. It's smooth as silk. The case shows some age, but not as much as I thought it would, and what do you expect for a tool watch that's 42 years old. Dial and hands are new, which I like.

But don't you regret the soul of the Patina?

I think there's good patina and bad patina.  Often times when a dial get replaced, it's because there was too much bad patina.  I'm not in love with bad patina (I think it's overrated).  That's just me.

Your pictures are really fantastic, by the way.  I particularly love the second shot of your Speedy on a chair/couch, maybe?  The contrast in textures is nice, while the strap color ties all the elements together.

there is a point where dials and hands are beyond redemption and then new replacements are better, but i try to keep it original where possible.  the only thing i'd consider changing on my speedy is its bezel and thats highly unlikely.

strangely these dials dont seem to get foxing on them like seamaster and constellation dials which is a good thing as unless something drastic happens they should patinate evenly. if you took away the tritium my dial would look like new with not a mark on it.

one of the best and most characterful chrono's out there, but i dont think i'd buy a new one unless it was the moon to mars edition. i really like the Olympic 5 rings, but there are too many useless functions making up the rings. instead of 1-7 days it should have gone for 1-6/th seconds.

i wonder how many speedy owners there are on this forum? (we asked this question about the Freak and didnt get much of a response, not surprising really as less than 500 were ever made)
