the speedmaster is actually the first watch that reminds me of my youth .... i've always been a "space-freak" and this speedmaster which i've never been able to buy was on my wrist a couple of weeks ago for the first time ... i loved it immediately but decided not to go for it right away..... one of these .... errr days ... ???

Ok, not exactly, gotcha!
When I got home yesterday, my 3rd Sapphire caseback arrived and I installed it immediately on my rhodium plated 1861 50th anniversary speedy.
Now, this completes my speedies collection!

How come the caseback in the right doesn't have the Omega inscripion?
You know: THE FIRST AND ONLY WATCH WORN ON THE MOON...?
Is this how it originaly came or did you need a special caseback for these one?

This is exactly the flipped side
the 321 straight lugs is pre-moon and I like the scriptless caseback with it. The newer inscribed casebacks are for the later speedies.

LOVE SPEEDIES!
but i cant turn the crown with ease to save my life.... if i could i would daily wear a sapphire sandwich for sure.... had one once, lasted 3 days because i couldnt turn the crown to wind without having to use the aid of my shirt.
