Over the last year or two I have been restoring a speedmaster 125, until now most of my movement parts have been supplied by cousins uk ( at great expense) - I finaly get down to fitting the dial/hands having rebuilt from scratch a water damaged cal 1041 that Omega boutique uk said could not be serviced or restored ( now running*, ok fair enough it was not viable and cost me a fortune but what the *ell
and the parts are no longer available from cousins or anywhere else, so for the past 6 months I have tried in vain to track down a dial and hands. I am a few hours work away from wearing my 125 for the last 6 months, how frustrating is that! - If anyone can help?
* running but not accurate - good enough for me!
a few years ago i bought a dog of a 125 sent it too swiss time services UK where all vintage Omegas go and it took them over 3 months to fix it. they had to make parts which werent available including a bracelet link. it came back in perfect condition and served me very well until i sold it in June. luckily they have virtually fixed price servicing so it wasnt too bad.i also forged a very good bond with Tony Coe who is the Omega workshop manager there.
i think he's a close 2nd to Bill Sohne for knowledge about Omegas.
