. . . being informed it's supposed to be a DC-8. I recall flying Swiss Air at least a few times in the late '60s . . . wish I could remember what was in their fleet. That would be the likely inspiration for the engraving.
Agree dear Art: all literature I read in books or internet sources mention the DC8. But still... The only commercial airplane in that era with an horizontal antenna on its tail fin top was the 707.

Probably the DC8 was the intention but then a mistake from the Omega artist making the original drawings for the watch was overlooked. That´s just my theory of course.
Ha ha ha! All these airplanes of that era look so similar... but curiously enough... the 707 was the only one in having a horizontal antenna on top of its tail fin!!
