The first Chopard GTG for Singapore Chopard Owners and fans on 31 January 2008, 18:30.



The preparation started at 17:30. 


The layout was per as planned.  The chairs must be consistently the same type. Its all details, details and details.


The private dinning area was about ready....



The meeting place was at the Chopard Boutique (at Ngee Ann City) . Everything was ready.

This GTG organised by Kong & MTF, hosted by the Chopard team, was one of the best!

The diversity of guests were excellent, generous variety of watch models direct from the boutique and more importantly the atmospehere initiated by Kong & MTF, and further accelerated by Maxime and his team during the quiz, was fun filled and educational. 

Maxime. MTF and Kong made some excellent speeches. Even the modest Mrs MTF stood up and said some compliments . I thoroughly enjoyed myself and . . . I am reading on Chopard, to avoid potential loss of words on future quizes!

as the PuristS forum moderator because the "Kongster" is King when it comes to Chopard, I really enjoy the family atmosphere that PuristS and Chopard have built up over the years.

Perhaps, it's also because Chopard is a family business like Patek Philippe. There is definitely something different about the "passion" injected into watches that are produced by a small family firm, whether brands like Chopard and Patek Philippe or watchmaker owned.

Most importantly, the PuristS' Chopard fans who attended were top-grade! There was a good mix of gender and every Chopard line had it's admirers. It was not just the Mille Miglia hardcore or Happy Diamonds crowd.......but it was amusing to see the differing opinions about watches with the same base movement but different dials e.g. Classique vs Tech range.     Vive la difference!

I fully agree with the rest who commented on this GTG. To add, I very much like to comment that it is a very interactive GTG arranged in a cosy,warmth and friendly manner. I like the viewing session at the boutique and I like the quiz most! Challenging and fun! Though I have to add that I couldn't possibly remember years of such and such happenings in Chopard . . phew. . Of course dinner is fantastic too and time passed by without being noticed and I could remember staggering out with my husband happily when midnight is approaching! Last but not least, I hope that Chopard GTG is not an annual event. More of it is welcomed (hint hint). Thanks again Kong, MTF, Maxime and his team at Chopard !

PuristS did not get off easily. Maxime decided to hold a quiz about Chopard and watches...with prizes.

Thank goodness moderators were excused from the quiz....how embarassing if we did not know the answers!   Phew!

For a while the ladies got most of the answers and were asked to let the boys win a few prizes

At last the quiz was over...phew... next round we better do our homework before attending the GTG.

Another gentleman won a book which has many terrific pictures of the Cannes festival.


That night, there were at least 5 ladies with "Ceramic & Diamond Frenzy" - must be something brewing !
And I overheard a few parties showing interest.

A while later the restaurant's captain hinted it was already 23:30!  Exceeded their closing time by at least an hour.... strange, that was fast.  I thought the night was still young and yet to warm-up! Perhaps too much good wine and bubblies.

We would like to thank Chopard Asia - Maxime, Julien, Charlotte, Valerie and Michelle for hosting us to a fun and memorable evening.
And not forgetting MTF for taking those nice pictures.

Looks like a blast!

Wow ... look at the paper in Maxime's hands with all the questions.  You guys sure must have been sweating bricks!  One behefit of being a moderator is not having to answer the pop questions - I like that!!

Thanks Kong for organising and posting these pics.

Many thanks to Chopard Asia led by Maxime and his team for hosting this first GTG.  Their LUC range covering tastes from the classic to the sporty to the contemporary - all with their beautifully finished movements will continue to attract admirers and collectors.  It is fortunate that we have Kong and MTF before him to moderate this forum that makes many of us to keep coming back.  Congratulations again to all who have worked so hard to make this gathering a success.
