Old and New, Gold and Blue
Well, it's been a minute! Stopping by to share an old love of mine, and a new one. Thwe 16/1860/1 stole my heart hears ago. The Alpine Eagle in Maritime Blue made me lust for and bring home an Alpine Eagle, a remarkably finished and comfortable watch I never new I needed! The dial seems as though it is impossibly illuminated from within. I cannot take my eyes off of it.

How have you been?!?!?! Your Chopard 1860 is lovely! One of my favorite watches period. I've got a similar 96-series movement in my Alpine Eagle XPS. I see you switched cars. V8 BMWs are B-M-Trouble Yous. Although I really liked my BMW 545i (when it was working properly).

Hope the same for you. Yes, I sold the BMW long ago. Driving a very practical hybrid Mercedes that is actually a pleasant drive as well. The Alpin Eagle XPS seems to be a popular choice among purists. I considered it, and I do like the smaller bezel and thinner case, but I could not say no to this dial. 
I agree with everything you mentioned. The Metal M dial of the Chopard 1860 is just amazing. Just one of the best!

I also have a Chopard duo (LUC Quattro Spirit 25 & grey dial Alpine Eagle) and know how good these watches feel.

As of yesterday, the L.U.C Quattro Spirit 25 is my favorite Chopard not in my collection. I had the chance to handle one at lunch yesterday, and it was hard to give it back to its owner!

If you have a pic handy of the BACK of that 16/1860/1, I wouldn't complain if you shared it, since we don't get to see the /1 very often.
We may have similar Chopard journeys -- first the 16/1860 series 20+ years ago, and then nothing until returning to the brand more recently for an Alpine Eagle.
