That dial is certainly something!
I know what you mean about sizes which ultimately depends on the actual size of the dial minus the bezel (IMHO). I had a similar experience with my 5146G which looked much smaller in person than what the size suggested.

Since you are open to the green dial…
then the one reservation I have against this grey dial is that it’s monochromatic compared to the nuanced contrast of the green dial. Don’t get me wrong, I love love grey dial pieces including this one; but their green is a nice hue that contrasts just enough to still allow appreciation of the other components of this model. I hope that made sense 🤔. Regardless, there is no wrong option.

I also like the monochromatic aspect of grey but the green would be cool too
This chopard reference seems to be gaining popularity. I can see why. The textured dial is amazing.

I am pleased to say that Mrs E and I both got on the Alpine Eagle train when it first came out - his and hers in the blue dial. I’m wearing mine now, about to travel for a month. It’s a great watch - and lovely to see that it’s starting to get some recognition! If only it were easy to swap out the bracelet for a strap, and vice versa. But aside from that, I say, go for it.

I must say in the flesh it’s a spectacular watch and the movement performs really well also…still hesitating between this grey and the green (trying to see if I could get the green)..
But surely it will be one of these two. I am missing some full metal watch in my collection
