Audemars Piguet

Recently joined the AP family and basically am obsessed with the brand now.

Own the 15305ST, and looking to add to the family a 26022OR and/or a 26205AU.

What are your opinions about both watches and which one do you think is more "worth it".  A little back ground on my collection, I have three Rose gold / white dial watches but no carbon watches.  I wear very little sport watch and the ones I own are Rolex Yacht master ii steel, and Breitling Navitimer.

Would love your takes on this matter.

Regarding the other two you have. I was previously an owner of the 26300ST Panda dial, and I really liked it....However it does wear thicker and feel different than the dial of the non-chrono AP RO's. However, I think AP Rose Gold watches are a beautiful thing, I managed to try on the 15305OR (Rose gold version of yours), and I absolutely loved it. One thing to remember about the 26022 is that it is 39mm, as was the 26300, whereas the newer AP RO chrono's are 41mm. I prefer the 39mm, as 41mm starts encroaching on ROO territory.

Regarding the 26205AU, this is an ROO that I really like. If I were to get an ROO, this would be higher on my list. It would wear very differently than your 15305 or 26022, in that you wouldn't really be wearing it to subtly fit under shirt sleeves and a business suit!! But considering that you have many other rose gold pieces, then it is worth going for this. But definitely try them all on first, as they wear differently.

But if it was my choice.... I would take the 26022 all day long... The brushed rose gold has a beautiful finish to it.

I'm personally torn between the two and want to purchase the both of them.  I'm thinking about trading in one of my rose gold watches to get the 26022 and maybe save up for the 26205.

I feel the rose gold 26022 is a must and still debating wether I will wear the 26205 much.

1.) you already have 3 rose gold watches with white dial ( I assume they are not AP & one of them perhaps is the Daytona RG in white dial ??) if you already have 3 RG in white dial, you may be thinking of trying something different but nothing really like the RO especially when you try it on. The feeling it gives you is very different from other brands. Also, it sounds like you use dress watch more often than sport watch. I think you are bias toward the RG.

2.) however, ROO is also very different from RO. It gives an entire different style. Nowadays especially when AP offers all kinds of rare & unique materials with different combinations. It is very tempting after trying one on. Black forged carbon or ceramic are my favorite. Just tried on the 26400 in black few days ago & It was hard to let go. 

In my opinion, I may go for a ROO instead of a RO because  you simply don't have any model in your collections that can give you the feeling of a ROO. However, I m not a big fan of 42mm ROO because of it's round pushers. If your wrist can carry 44mm ROO, I would go for the 44mm. If you decide to go for the RO instead, have you thought about white gold version. I don't have any RG watch but I really love my white gold ROC. Whatever your decision, I m sure you will be very happy to have it on your wrist. Please keep us updated & more pictures would be nice here is my ROC in white gold with blue dial for your reference!!!

1. Currently I own a Daniel Roth Athys III, Cartier Tank Solo XL, and a Vacheron 1921, all in rose gold.  So good guess, but not correct.  I was thinking about the daytona!  I'm thinking about trading in the VC 1921 for the 26022 as I find AP ROC to be more of my age group, mid 30's, and that VC's I can purchase later on and still look good wearing it when I'm older.

2. I just recently fell in love with ROOs, as previously I found them to be too big for me, even the 42mms.  But I guess its putting on weight or something, I changed my mind about the ROO's and think that 42mm is an option, so I started hunting for a ROO and just fell for the 26205AU.  My friend bought one during its release in 2011 and I didn't think twice about it, as I was still working on my 15305ST, and now that the dust has settled and I'm more in love with the brand, I want to get APs for different occasions.  

44mms have been too big for my wrist and I do wish they make an angular pusher on the 42mms instead of the round pushers.

Still deciding and don't know what to do...maybe 26022 first, maybe 26205 first, maybe both, maybe bankrupcy...

Getting both would be one of the solution but as you said.... Bankruptcy!!! Haha!!!  I agree very much with Michael actually. Comparing to the two you have there. I will take the RG ROC any day!!! If you are going for ROO, I think you can have many more to choose from. If you are interested in carbon finishing in 42mm in particular, I think Jarno Trulli would be a very good choice!!!

What I really mean to say is don't choose the carbon because you already have some gold and white dial watches.  If you really prefer the pink gold ROC (and in this comparison, I definitely prefer it to the selected Offshore), that is the one you should buy.

I know what you mean and I'm still trying to figure it out for myself.  I feel that the 26022 is a must for me, while the 26205 is still out on a jury.

So if you get another pink gold silver dial for now, it just means you will really have that segment of your collection cemented  And this particular AP, wow, she is a real looker!
