Feedback on RO 15450 and 14790 requested
Hi everyone,
I am actively hunting for a royal oak that suits me. However with my 6 inch wrist this has proven tough so far.
I have been smitten with the 15202 for the longest time but unfortunately it doesn't fit me well.. Too big for me and the bracelet leaves gaps between the wrist.. I'm a stickler for fit you see.
I've thus narrowed it down to the 15450 and 14790. Could owners thus provide feedback on how they wear? Also is one more desirable than the other? I know the 15450 has the inhouse 3120 movement, but am not sure about the 14790, which was around for a longer period of time but now discontinued..
Any thoughts and opinions are most welcome! If you have alternatives for me to consider I would welcome them too!

The 14790 comes with the JLC-based Cal. 2125...
and thus is a bit thicker, but other than that comes with many iconic features of the early RO, such as the fantastic tapisserie and the tapered case. Diameter is 36mm, but it appears a bit larger due to is shorter baton indices.
If I look at the 15450 instead I see a modestly more modern watch, but I feel it lacks some refinement compared to its predecessors (case, inner bezel, …). Its not a tremendous difference I think its there. You have to decide whether this is important to you, and how you value the in-house calibre compared to the equally excellent JLC-based movement of the 14790.

I must admit, I have had the 15450 on my wrist several times, and I am quite impressed with it. It exudes AP's quality and refinement, and I honestly think the proportions on the watch are perfect. I am also a big fan of the Caliber 3120. It is robust, easy winding, offers a long power reserve, and a very crisp rapid date adjuster with a safety mechanism to protect against accidental damage. If it fits your wrist correctly (and it sounds like it definitely will), I see it as the perfect every day Royal Oak.

Struggled with that for a while
but am a happy owner of the 15450 today. I listed a few things I looked for and at in making my choice between this and the larger 15400 and more iconic 15202 in a post earlier today. Sounds like similar thoughts and feelings that I had, though I am not very familiar with the other model you're considering.
