Issue with the Diver 15710
I’ve recently been looking to possibly acquire an AP Diver. In more than one piece I’ve looked at I’ve seen spotting on the hands (including the second hand) and indices. As you can see in the photos these are white spots that look like it could possibly oxidation.
The aftermarket seller I’m speaking to says this is common on Diver and also Offshore models.
Have others seen this spotting on their Divers or on other Offshore models? I would like to assess whether this issue is specific to the particular watches I’ve looked at (maybe due to water incursion) or whether it really is common.

Especially Bulova are in terms of finishing very good.
I will look further when an AP RO have spots and oxidation.

It would be very exited for me, as i strap on my first AP.
But a longtime ago i was dissapointed when i saw a royal oak.
Not fair, a shiny display of Rolex watches was guilty.
Every other watch fade away.

I've owned a few Offshores, never saw this issue before and this is the first I've heard of such an issue. If you've noticed this on any pieces, pass on them.
Based on the pics it looks like there are white spots on the print as well so maybe not oxidation of just the hands but dirt across the dial?
Oxidation of the hands is not uncommon and doesn’t necessarily mean liquid water incursion - probably "humidity" is enough to cause it
The worst of several cases I have suffered. There were tiny marks when I bought the watch in 2005 — the seller who was obsessive disclosed the marks and sold it for a song.
“Easily resolved” with $1200 overhaul and new parts in 2015, including dial which is slightly different than the original.
I could barely see them, even with the case open. But that was only at the beginning … it got far worse. As they say, Rust Never Sleeps.

I have not personally encountered these conditions on an AP before.
I would be careful about this sample.
