I wear watches between 35mm and 42mm. The 42mm feels smaller on my wrist than one of the 39mm ones merely because of the height of the case and how the lugs curve. So, for me, a watch depends on many factors but ultimately how it feels to you. The fact that you ask teh question could be indicatove of the feeling that you feel it is too big???

Both of them are – but then if you’re happy with the 5711, it should be no different with the 15400.

I don't like the 15400 because of its case back, movement too small compared to the case's diameter.

Also good size. Traditional and conservative. I see more bracelet than watch face. But expensive even for SS.

What about 15450?
I've not tried it yet, but 37 mm may be the perfect match.
I've owned 14790,14802 and 15202; the Jumbo IS the RO, but i must admit the size is a bit excessive, because of the integrated bracelet.
Don't get me wrong, RO is still the watch i've loved the most and the one i regret to have sold (to my bro), but i guess 37 mm is the best size for 18-19 cm wrist like mine.
It wears like a strap, although it is an integrated steel bracelet .

15400 is still available but hard to find. 15202 is even harder.
They kept 39mm exclusive. So entry level are the unusual size of 41mm and 37mm

Well it was fine when I tried it.
But I just read that too many people prefer the 39mm. Actually their wrist shots with the 41 were terrible unlike mine. Too bad the 15300 was discontinued. Without considering community input I’m fine with 41
If that was true, then you’d not be asking our opinion then. It’s obvious that you’re not wholly convinced, and in my opinion, it’s marginal when viewed in isolation.
Having seen the 15202 on your wrist as well, it becomes all the more obvious that its size is just that bit more suitable or appropriate for your wrist shape/circumference.
If buying pre-owned isn’t beneath you, then have a look on Chrono24 at some of the white (rather than silver tone) dial 15300s listed.

If you worry about the fact that it might be too big, then in 95% of the cases it is too big.
Maybe. Time will tell.
I can rock a Panerai. This one is so much thinner and comparably easy on the wrist.
Scratches
If the scratches do not bother you your fine. A smaller size would not protrude as much and impact less objects.

Of course, to just see a shot does not answer all the questions related to how it feels, is the clasp comfortable for you, do you like the thickness, etc.
It is hard to compare any Royal Oak to the iconic 39mm "jumbo" (the current reference 15202 is called the "Extra-Thin"). I wear and enjoy a 44mm Royal Oak Offshore and it is not too big for me. But, nothing is the same as the Jumbo on the wrist. There is quite a bit more too it than the 39mm. The thickness, the suppleness of the bracelet - much less mechanic feeling than the 15400.
But if the only question is if the 41 works for you from that photo, I believe yes, it does.
15450?
Hi Sir, had this same question a couple of months back. The 15202 fits perfectly on my wrist but was looking to add a more daily wearer RO to the collection. The 15400 is just too big if you have an average sized wrist. Ended up going for the 15450, the 37mm. To be 100% honest it wears bigger than 37mm and the proportions and the way it wears on the wrist are nearly identical to the 15202. It has the same movement as the 15400 (cal. 3120), which fits the case a lot better on the 15450. Also, the silver dial is really cool. Gives the watch a monotone look and the way it plays in the sunlight is superb. Hope this helps!

But I believe it looks like the bracelet is not following your wrist and is locked on minimum radius curvature?
The whole point of this piece is to F L O W over your wrist like silk not wear like a manacle.
Get the Jumbo 15202 if you can.
