Wayyy overdue photos... But better late than never!
The Millenary Starwheel, celebrating 125 years of Audemars Piguet. There have been only few but all the more great articles posted about this magnificent watch already - and little did I know I would ever be lucky enough to acquire one in such splendid condition: I'm much obliged to Salman and this forum for it!
The joy of wearing and admiring this piece never tires me...

Given its a day-time (no hint of anything remotely luminous) and decidedly non-sportive watch, I've been asking myself the same question - particularly because the first Starwheel showed the heavily modified JLC movement in all its glory. Back then still somewhat "inhouse"...
Cost was likely not an object but the fact that they wanted to engrave the celebratory occasion perhaps?
Perhaps Michael knows more?

In fact a Millenary Chrono was on my shortlist before I got persuaded into the LUC Chrono One here at PuristSPro

The Star Wheel is of course the main attraction here but one should not overlook the very nicely conceptualised and wonderfully executed case - which your pictures show to best advantage

I've been a big fan of the Millenary case shape, using the same side finishing details as the Jules Audemars but with such a distinctive twist using the oval shape!
The newer iterations with their off-center arrangements make this pop out even more, using multiple levels within the dial and visible movement parts... Beautiful.
And, refreshingly different from the much-loved Octagon, the Millenary case shape is a classic in its own right.

I know you have a discerning eye, and the Starwheel seems a perfect choice for a different AP.  I know you will enjoy it!

While I am a huge admirer of the Royal Oaks, as I believe you are, there is always space for other beautiful and classic pieces...
And this particular one in steel with its marvelous blue dial spoke to me like my first ROO or the 15202, or the 15300, or the 26300, or the Diver or the Huitieme or the rectangular Quartz RO or... or... or...

Hope AP will indeed hear you and us others wanting to see a re-incarnation of this fascination mechanism...
Recently saw my first ever other Starwheel in the wild - its round and more classic looking to predecessor in rosegold!
What were the odds! Granted, it was kindly helped by introduction of the friendly neighborhood AP head of after sales and service at a recent event...

...is that not only did you get a gem, but if I remember right, Salman's piece was super duper complete down to the hand tag and serviced. How do I remember? Since I waffled on buying it and contacted him about it! I think it may be the most complete Millenary Starwheel out there today! Congrats on it, clearly I am a fool to not have pulled the trigger!

I understand you appreciate this piece as much as I adore it, indeed a magnificent find I stumbled upon in March - not on my watch radar nor budget for this year at all, but it was love at first sight! I simply couldn't resist and I'm so glad I didn't...
The fact that Salman was a through and through gentlemanly and knowledgeable counterpart with an immense passion for our hobby, was perfectly complementing this rare and beautiful timepiece and its complete set and credentials.
Next day I spoke to two local watchmakers at the Singapore AP Service center in regards to maintenance and reliability of this watch and pondered over this purchase with a good cigar and whiskey. And with my birthday about to come up back then... the rest is history.
And no looking back - I'll be ever so grateful for Salman's expertise and impeccable taste for having purchased this watch in first place and indebted for his willingness to sell it to me.
