Here it is, the long awaited Tribute To Deep Sea Alarm US.

To be frank, I received it at the end of past year, and, as for my selfish pleasure, I kept it for me, for a while, which allows me to include some thoughts to the pictures.

As you know, I owned for several years the original Deep Sea Alarm US, so I was very curious to see how I would live with the Tribute.

The first feeling is that the Tribute is thicker and bigger than the original. It doesn't jump to the eyes, but after a while, and specially when you put it on the wrist, you see it.

Nonetheless, it is far from being unpleasant, it is just surprising, and I still think that the extra millimeter was not necessary.

BUT, and the most important is here, you still have the very elegant case, whose " sandwich " profile is really awesome, complimented by the slim and deliciously beveled lugs.

The black and white case is as luminous as eyecatcher... Envouting, with a lot of character. Brilliant.

Which made me laugh were the writings " Deep Sea Alarm Automatic " on the alarm disc... I still have the reactions in mind, when we saw the Navy SEALs Alarm featuring the same details, and here, I doubt that someone will complain about this detail on the TT DSA US...

Will people re consider their reaction on the NSA than to the TT DSA US?



Truly, the most important thing, with this Tribute, is that the spirit of the original is well kept.

As well as the LeCoultre signature, which is unique to this watch. A sign of the past.

Actually, I would have appreciated to see thinner minute indexes, which are, in my opinion, a bit too thick.

As for the bezel, I observed an lovely detail: It is exactly like the one I saw on the protos in December 2010, with the oval 0 of the 10 instead of the rectangular one we can see on the definitive TT DSA.

By the way, it is usefeull to remind that both typos were correct ( oval or rectangular Zero ).

Let's not forget the crowns, specially the one located at 2 o' clock, with its special shape, almost onion.

I also have to mention the nice engraving on the case back, featuring, like on the original, a diver in action, among the bubbles.

A lovely watch, with a great presence on the wrist, which also knows to stay elegant.

The real surprise? The lume of the triangle indexes of the bezel and alarm, and the hands. When you're used to the Vintage, which didn't glow anymore, this is a major change, and a nice one, as the show in the night is simply spectacular.

Congratulations Nicolas...

I recently tried one myself, only the European version...

Same as you, i like the way they kept the spirit of the original watch..

Adding 1mm to the case diameter doesn't hurt at all, it still sits elegantly on the wrist..

As much as I like this US dial version, I think I would go for the European version, if I decide to get one, or find one..

I find the US to be funnier, when the European is more " dressy ".

Both are to be considered... That is the bad news, with the TT DSAs.

How many original/tribute-reissue combos do you have?

That's a nice one. I like the script on the dial. It's amazing how you were able to keep mum about it for close to a year!

There were so many things to work on that it was quite easy to hide it...

In fact, this is not the only one I kept under silence... The 2 Polaris 65 ( original and TTP ), this one, and a few others are in this case.

More to come...

As for the watch in itself, it brings a smile on your face.

An excellent medication againsr the Blues.
