I'm just as excited by the new JLC offerings as everyone else.  So, why did I just pick this one up? 

A)  I always choose the saddest puppy in the litter.

B)  I have self esteem issues and I'm not worthy of the new pieces.

C)  It's the only model I have yet to own at least three times.

D)  I needed a great travel watch and while the new Geo is stunning, it's not as easy to use for that purpose...I love the newer case proportions and wanted to give it a try...I prefer a quality bracelet, and the new steel models seem to omit them for now...I really like the dial layout and clean, monochrome look.

I know I don't need to rationalize the choice, but I thought it odd myself in context of SIHH euphoria.  Best, Ken in NYC

both house the Autotractor movement, and it is THE most robust movement JLC makes. It's also a "true GMT" travel watch, allowing the user to advance or retard the date as he travels across time zones.

Congrats! It's a clean, sober and practical watch.

You also have some interesting developments, not to say enhancement, on the case, with a much nicer bezel.

Hi Ken,

Great choice; I've checked it out several times as I did with its Compressor Sister. You should also try it with a brown gator strap which makes it very sharp. Like the smaller bezel too and as has been said it houses a great and robust kaliber. Enjoy!

Hi Ken,

there are no justifications needed to get this watch of yours: the clear design, the legibility suffice.

The only dial design feature I do not quite understand is the the "9" hour marker, the only number on the dial (apart from the date window of course).

I am not sure whether to find it cute or superfluous.

this MHT was my first JLC watch, but mine is the old model. i still love it very much, especially the ceramic ball rotor, very efficient winding!

I much prefer this one to the earlier version.

As promised, some (poor) pictures I took of my HT, IMO an underestimated beauty... thanks to its look, pleasant size and the sound of the rotor, the HT is getting a lot of milage on my wrist!
