My Wife's birthday present and look what I got too.
I got this beautiful Datejust watch for my wife's birthday present last weekend. She and I are very happy since I could get this one for me today. I made a decision on this one because I love the Alarm and GMT features.

Both great watches! I love the EWA. The combination of the alarm and world time is terrific. Makes for a great everyday and travel watch. It came witha rubber strap, too, right? How do you like that strap?

Congratulations on both selections. I wear the EWA Tides of Time myself, and it has to be on of the most versatile and content-packed watches JLC makes. The world time and on/off alarm are a joy to experience and so easy to set. I feel that this watch is too often overlooked and extremely underrated.
The ability to swap from rubber to textile to leather to steel in ten seconds is a feature that I would love to see in more watches. Also, this watch and the other Master Compressor Extremes have a fascinating shock-abatement system that may be unique, even among sports watches. It involves springs, an air pocket, and bi-metal case construction. Apparently, JLC announced at launch that the Extremes can survive "mountain biking," should you be so inclined!
I'm certain that you and your wife will enjoy these watches for years to come.
Since Christmas is only three months hence, perhaps now is the time to start compiling a wish list of swappable EWA 22mm strap/bracelet options for "Santa"...
