I'd like to tell you a little story. after having visited some manufactures in May with Alex, including JLC, I told my story to my closest friends and their parents. I told them my love and passion for JLC and the incredible moment I lived in visiting the Grande Maison.

When the parents said.. "we have some old watches that we gave to a cousin who is going to smell them for their gold. funny, there was a JLC who belonged to my father.. if we had known you love that brand so much..."

My eyes get off my skull and I pray them to call this cousin to stop the desaster. Hopefully, nothing has been done and I recovered beside the JLC, 2 Omega vintages.

The JLC is a Geomatic, yellow gold, with the stop second feature. Good condition with scratches on plexy but still operating and keeping time in respect of its chronometer rank.. A way for thanking me for saving its life ?

The gold bracelet was too much goldy and much less valuable than its gold weight, so I didn't keep it.

After a visit to ABP, I recover my Geomatic in new clothes and I felt (again) in love with her.

Perhaps this story is silly for you and I'm confused for this but I just wanted to share my joy with you and to introduce my updated small and modest collection. Very modest in comparison with the treasures this forum makes me see every day, but I'm proud of it and will always claim my love and passion for JLC.

And this is a Chronometer, which sounds magic.

Your story is not ridiculous at all, it is GREAT.

You dreamt of it, you got it, and you care aout it.

What is more important, at the end?

I don't see.

As for the rest of your collection, it shows that you have great taste, which is the most difficult thing to have.

So, congratulations, my friend.

And don't worry about what the others have, own, etc.... The most important is that you're very happy with your watches, and that it is truley an excellent beginning!

The strap you got is awesome. The pic has a very nice retro flair that goes perfectly with the watch.

As a stainless steel Geomatic owner I can say you that this "simple" watch is an everyday killer. Mine is gone to the manufacture for a full new youth and I can't wait to see it back (later next year alas).

Welcome in the realm of superlative vintage watches, you're lost!!

I must admit that this Geomatic gave me some fierce ideas on going deeper into JLC's history and to go hunting some more vintage models.. and when I read some books about historical models, whaou, what a brand.. I loved JLC, now, I'm a fanatic

I cringe to think of how many nice pieces end up literally being thrown in the trash can.
