Hi JLC Lovers,

I saw the Minute Repeater  rose gold 1833 collection yesterday and was amazed with the details of the watches. The pictures does not do any justice to the watch as you see the watch in person. The watch is the loudest Minute Repeater ( IMO ) as the way they have created the hammer hits the Sapphire which is the good conductor of sound and gives you a loudest chime.

Please give me your thoughts on the Minute Repeater 1833 Collection...

Welcome here, firstly!

I'm specially happy to welcome a Fan, a Passionate MMR Fan.

With the 1833 MMR, JLC palyed, IMO, on 2 grounds at the same time: A classic and warm RG case, a concept watch look for the open dial.

A kind of best of both worlds?



I made another choice, as I'm not a big fan of colored gold watches, even if I must admit that this RG is very tempting:



I must say that I fall in admiration each time I see a MMR



And if you do a search on this forum, you will understand why...

The Best Minute Repeater in the world?

If you look at the VC Skeleton, or AP, or PP, you may find better in terms of Harmony or Finish, but much more expensive, too.

What I absolutely love with this JLC MMR is the fact that JLC gave a big youth to this noble complication, and the outcome is stunning, aesthetically, and acoustically, too.

To fall in love with, to dream about it, and why not, to consider owning it?

It's a long time I didn't see a Titanium MMR on a window shop.

As for the RG, there are still some available.

the sapphire but rather metal gongs coupled with the sapphire glass at 5 o clock with the flat piece of metal that displays either little notes of music or "1833".

The trick is in the coupling to allow correct transmission of the soudn waves into the sapphire glass with then acts as a resonator. I don't know the of exact details the coupling, and may be it is a trade secret.

I like the squeletonized dial that remains fairly readable: this is quite an achievement compared to many other squeletonized dials where one needs a guide to find the hands to read the time. But the cristal pure sound o fhte repeater is something to experience in real. The first time I heard it ( and the only time so far), I thought the old clock on the chimney was chiming. It is an enchanting complication.

And can't agree more with you about the MMR...

But this is not a scoop!

Thank you so much for the details how the chimming takes place in the watch. I was not aware about the Hammer hitting the Metal which is connected to the Sapphire and that's how it gives you the Loudest Chime.
