Mrs pplater is a formidable woman; a woman who knows her own mind; a woman not to be trifled with.

 

This last week saw the passing of a significant milestone for Mrs pplater. A worthy husband spends a long time thinking in advance: “What can be done to mark this milestone in a truly appropriate fashion?” The milestone, of course, involved the passage of a certain period of time (it would be indelicate to say just how much time). What better gift than a gift which marks the passage of time?  Mrs pplater was gently sounded out, but saw ‘Plan A’ coming a mile off. “No!” she barked. “The last thing I need is another watch!! Do not – repeat, DO NOT – buy me another watch”.

 

A dutiful husband (and especially the dutiful husband of a formidable woman) does not ignore these admonitions. A dutiful husband does not buy another watch. Dutiful husbands, however, are not necessarily imaginative husbands, and with the plan to buy a new watch firmly rejected, it was necessary to re-think and find a ‘Plan B’.

I like Plan B, I don't know how many watches the Missus already has, but I suppose every watch collection needs at least one or two clocks to complement it with.

It's a wise man who chooses not to trifle with a formidable woman, so Pplater you must be a very wise man indeed!    The Atmos you chose is awesome!  What a great discussion piece for your home!  I've yet to see an Atmos that I didn't like.  This transparent version that you've chosen is particularly light and ethereal -- surely this model was selected as an homage to Mrs. Pplater's very own beautiful nature!  Please congratulate her on reaching a significant milestone, and on her fantastic new clock!

I am looking at the transparent moon phase and am not really patiently waiting for the big milestone at the end of this year.

Congratulations to Mrs P. You did have a nice weekend, didn’t you? I have been plotting the same Plan B for a while but our modern marble fireplace lacks a mantle and I need the location before I get the clock. You have, however, inspired me (again). Lovely Atmos.
