3 pics to show the similarities between the Polaris 65, which has just been re edited this year, and the Vintage Black Memovox.
Well, the shape and the diameter of the cases are different, so as the crowns, and the case backs, but if you look at the hands, and the dial, you will notice like an " air de famille "...
The crowns are strictly the same.
The dial is 90 % similar, just some applied numbers instead of all indexes...
Here the Polaris 65 ( or 63, as the '63 protos are the same )...
Amazing, isn't it?
aaah yes, I forgot to tell you, I picked this Black Memovox very recently, and this was one of those Vintage I was hunting so badly...

But I could n't resist to show you this Beauty, and in fact, can't wait anymore for my pair of Polaris...LOL

That Memovox is a very nice catch, well you know i like these divers too ...
The lugs are much wider on the new one ... or am i wrong here?
When you receive your (pair of Solaris .... two ???) please post some pics .... afterwards we can organize a gtg with divers ... i'll bring my Swatch scuba ... LOL
And bring you compass (panerai) should we loose direction ....

I was drawn to the style first. Size was and still is worry (mostly height) but I like the fact that it is perfect remake of the old. I figured my keepers so far are royal oak and reverso neither divers and neither alarms and it would set itself apart. Very early for me

Tomorrow I hope to be able to take pictures of this beauty, this "modern black memovox."
And, of course, it will present in society as it deserves.
My first feeling ...???. While being a modern watch, this air of "tribute" is clear, and that's what I like most about it.
I think that this piece meets multiple objectives simultaneously: it is a beautiful piece of one of the best manufactures today (by tradition and innovation); is a reminiscence and a tribute to large pieces that came out of that "Grande Maison "; a remarkable level of finishes; with this alarm so funny (I love this complication and JLC has been able to produce as few brands); these hands .... uff, I love them ... I think that I´ve found what I need (now...today...LOL) in a only watch.

u had made a post before but with all the watches in one picture, i honestly could not figure out which was which.. im sure you have the pictures handy and could make the post (when time allows)... i have had a polaris itch lately. and regardless of how much Gold Bond Ointment i put on it... i just cant seem to tame the itch... i honestly prefer vintage.. but i am been thinking.. if even i couldnt tell apart.. wouldnt i rather have a new piece that will be reliable for longer period of time and create my own patina versus a vintage piece that has someone elses memories tied up in it?

the strap on 68' looks good
thats only part im questionable on with the reissue... i would REALLY love the DBS cordova/leather strap on it.. im not sure if that would blend as well as i think..
maybe just a Black NATO or even better a yellowish orange NATO if i can find one.. but somehow pry the NATO's buckle and replace with Jaeger... of course!

The DBS Cordura strap is very nice, but too technical for the Polaris
