Here are some pics I took today of this Atmos we quickly saw at the SIHH fair, last April...

Designed in the Bauhaus spirit, with its cabinet made of Carbon, Aluminium, and Crystal, this Atmos provides the Hour, Minutes, Months, and Moonphase.

This model is only available at the JLC Boutiques.

The dissymetry of the whole clock is nicely made, IMO, and contributes to its charm.





What to say about this Moon Phase, just lovely!



This Year, JLC offered, as Jerome said, several very tempting new Atmos: The M. NEWSON, The Astronomique, and the Marqueterie...

The blend of material as Carbon Fibers, the aluminium, and the Crystal is awesome, and gives a nice light play and relief, too.

I like it a lot!

I think that this particular Atmos is awesome, in fact I pretty much like their whole range!

However the Pavillon as it is not symetrical throws me off a bit. I keep on getting distracted looking at the right hand side of it.

I think that the Beauty of this Atmos is the dissimerty of its design, but yes, this is indeed very particular...

And original, but really in the Bauhaus style, IMO.

To see in the flesh, as my pics are really poor, due to the light conditions.

The Atmos Pavilion seems very much inspired by the Barcelona Pavilion designed by Mies van der Rohe in 1928 for the German's pavilion for the 1929 Barcelona International Exhibition (indeed close to the end of the Bauhaus time, alas).

The designs made by Mies van der Rohe for this exhibition are most well known for the very trendy Barcelona Chair.

The Barcelona Pavilion is also the source of inspiration for the new Aston Martin dealerships' design. So this Atmos would easily be the Aston Martin Atmos!

Somehow the design of this one doesn't quite work. I love the Newson and Marquetrie though, as well as one ultra-luxury Atmos with mother-of-pearl inlay and gold that JLC made a few years ago that cost a million francs or something.

Nicer, and laso more expensive Atmos!

My favourtie being the Astronomique and the M.NEWSON, we are far from these 2 monsters...

But its particular shape is very interesting, too, and gives it some nice originality...

The offer in the atmos is so large that I think that every one can easily find his...

at the reflections, you can see a very steady hand holding an anti-reflections shield.

i feel the M.NEWSON is gorgeou and classy whereas the MARQUETERIE is just stunning and a work of art/engineering.

No other reason than pure design, Art Deco, or Bauhaus...

It is intrigating, at least.

And yes, of course, I think  that it was used to enhance the use of technical materials.

BUT, when I see it, it makes me think at an Architect's Opus.

This is an unusual look, indeed, a bit like the Reverso was in the '30ies.

In fact, this clock makes me think about the Reverso, due to its particular Art Deco Style.
