My second Tourbillon and first serious non-Patek. Bought number 42 of 500.
I like this watch a lot already.. Getting up the courage to order the Gyrotourbillon 2 although one of the AD's I approached (not my usual AD) actually tried to talk me out of ordering it.. He's a dealer but also a friend who maintains there is just too much depreciation in these models.. Doesn't want me to get hurt.
Is it possible that there can be depreciation on a model with such low production (75 pieces for the thick case Gyrotourbillon 2 reverso)?.. I think that Reverso Gyrotourbillon is breathtakingly beautiful.. Would much rather own it than my Patek 5101. This Plat No. 2 Tourbillon is a nice little surrogate (crutch), but clearly not the same world as the Gyrotourbillon 2.

Congraaaaaaaaaats!
Tell me one thing: Are you the lucky guy form the last auctions who won it?
Now you just own one of my 5 fav Reverso, here...Just a gorgeous watch, and I appreciate a lot the fact that the tourbi is at the verso side, as I am able to see it only when I want..Well I speak like I own one, I owned one but sold it like a fool.
This is one of these very few watches I regret having sold.
As for the Gyro II, this is a piece of exception, they are selling very fast, when I see what the Gyro I did at the last auctiions, I'm confident.
The Gyro II is for me one of the 5 nicest watches in the world, and if you can aaford this watch, I'd say jump on it befoere regretting letting it go on another wrist thna yours...
Best,
Nicolas
and rethinking my 5101 as well
And - congrats on your new acquisition.

I view the JLC as a long lost relative of Pateks.. A sort of destiy never fulfilled. jlc.watchprosite.com =
I feel lucky to be able to participate in the evolution of history by purchasing them.

... and the watch is on its way to Switzerland for service including a new movement which I've requested.. The case was fogging significantly.. and the tourbillon slowing. I stood before my AD's service manager and explained that the only moisture which could have come in contact with the watch would have come from washing my hands. The service lady looked at me doubtingly as their technician pressed a silly-putty like compound against the tourbillon side crystal. He yanked back on the putty and voilla' .. the crystal popped off, to which the technician remarked (in a thick swiss accent) ""Ziss is not very good, zeh should glue ziss or zumsing"
Very disappointing experience. I expected much better workmanship for a masthead piece like this. In addition the reverso ball-bearing clasp was loose so they'll have to replace/tighten that.. I will see the piece again in September or October.
Back to the Patek forum for me. That'll teach me to venture out.
You can't generalize...Even if it's very sad and deceiving, of course...
As you speak of PP, I had in the same week, 2 problems...
One with my Brand New 5712, the crown stayed in my fingers, and the winding wasn't correct...
One with my 5110P, the croix de calatrava of the folding buckle died on the floor...
All the brands know this kind of problems, but once again, this is not an excuse, nor a reason to accept it.
Best!
