I nearly bought a watch winder for my Memovox the other day, but as the winder ony turned in one direction I thought I would find out more about it before buying. I rang JLC UK and asked them whether the memovox movement was clockwise/anti or both, to my suprise the person at JLC did not know the answer to this question, and they couldn't find the person who would know.
I didn't think of asking about this when I bought the watch, if you have an experience with watch winders, or can help me with this I would be very gratful. Thanks and Merry Christmas

I had asked the AD to inquire the which direction the 918 movement winds .
The response from JLC was to just put it in a winder and that will keep the watch wound .
I was in total disbelief of this type of answer from such a company that prides itself on all it's in house movements etc...
Don't let this type of ignorance discourage you Sid ,JLC is a great watch and manufacture and it's company values remain intact !
The JLC employees of N A distribution just view their jobs as just another pay check ,they are not enthusiasts such as yourself .
I recommend a Orbita winder to keep your watches wound. They are completely programmable to handle just about any winding task.
The MC Memovox sould be wound 800 turns per day in both directions .This will keep it wound till you start wear it again.
Hope this info helps you .
Thanks for the info, shame its a bit too late to ask Santa for a watch winder. Maybe I'll get one in the sales ;-)
The 918 winds both ways and in wider it should be set
for 800 TPD (turns per day).
Any winder that provides this setting should work fine. I have also
experience with my Master Compressor on a winder that makes a turn every 10
minutes and then lets gravity swing back and forth for another 15-30
seconds. It is supposed to be more like wrist movement. I am very
happy with the results.
