“Uniplan” means that the caliber is constructed on a single layer/plane, as opposed to “duoplan” calibers which are constructed on two superimposed layers/planes (as explained in this post).

“Étrier”, French for “stirrup” describes the shape of the lugs.

The seconds hand was missing. The hour and minute hands, as well as the crown and crystal, were not correct, as you can see in my original post.



And, if you ask me, the restoration work done by Jaeger-LeCoultre is fantastic.



To choose a new strap, I went to Camille Fournet and this burgundy color was suggested to me: I compared it with several other options, but this is the color I found the most beautiful with this particular watch and style.



Several months ago, I ordered a 14 mm JLC rose gold pin buckle so that I could install it when I received the watch.



Let's have a closer look at how the dial was restored.



I hesitated a lot before accepting the restoration of the dial, which was optional (and expensive), and I was a little apprehensive about the result.



But look how beautiful the dial is!



Clean, but still vintage looking.



The blued steel seconds hand with its rounded counterweight is the element that elevates the watch to the next level.



It is stunning to look at and I also like the Dauphine hands very much.



To conclude this post, here are some additional photos with another t-shirt and some thoughts on size.



Measuring 24 x 37 mm, this watch is small. But is it too small? 



I personally like this smaller size a lot. Bigger, the watch wouldn't have the same charm.



But please feel free to share your opinion on such a small size.

As for the size, 37mm works well for the vast majority. And we also see several brands introducing sub 40mm options in their lineups at W&W26.

Looking at the other examples in your earlier post I believe yours with the lighter dial AND those Dauphine hands is THE version to own.  This style of watch overall needs to be on the dressier side, the darker / black dial and those watches with the lumed (am I seeing that correctly) are too sporty like. 

It also seems your decision ultimately to have the dial restored was justified.  It looks great, but importantly (as you state) still vintage !

Amazing.  Better than any new watch you will ever buy.
