Master Controls - Hometime and Geographic. Miss them
Stumbled across an old picture of two of my favorite JLCs, both Master Control models.
Both were bought with annual bonuses from my employer many years ago. Both were bought second hand.
I love the stealthy nature of the Hometime with its second time zone hand hidden under the hour hand. Also, the slightly weird dial that actually works so well. Someone with a good eye designed that dial.
The Geographic I loved for two reasons. First of all the sheer mechanics. Switching the time zone using the crown on the left side was such a tangible and tactile pleasure. Second reason was the romance of travelling the world. I actually used it a lot when I lives in a different time zone from my family.
Anyway, a trip down memory lane. The watches were sold some years ago to fund my Lange 1, I think. Even so, I still miss them.

I loved the former version of the Geographique a lot. Maybe a watch I will get, one day...
I owned the Master Hometime once.
I will admit it is a watch I wish I had held on to. For a travel watch, it can't be beat.

I am a big fan of the Master Control series of that bygone era - owned 7/8 of those, but none left.

Always loved the Hometime! With this quirky dial or the later models with the more symmetrical dial.
The black dialed versions were the first JLCs on my wish list: either the Aston Martin model or the limited edition for a watch shop (wempe? Bucherer?).
One day maybe, so practical when one travels (but the Reverso Duo is crazy tempting too 😀 😉).

Yes. I would actually love to reacquire the Hometime…
…in that particular non-symmetrical version. And this in spite of the bezel being a bit too wide and the finishing of the movement a bit too industrial.
