Two détails which change, on the new version.
It adopts the round bezel seen on the most recent Duometres, the small cases in rose gold or white gold plain dials.
And the second difference will immediately jump to the eyes of the Quantième Lunaire lovers: The moonphase disc, which is laquered, now, not printed.
The first générations ( 2010 / 2011 ).
The latest, in the traditional 42 mm case.
You will remember that this moonphase disc has already been used... In the Duometre à Quantième Lunaire Enamel 40, 5.
The QL Enamel:
I am curious to hear your feelings on that modifications.
I am not very fan of the partially open dials on the right and left side of the dial, and would have much preferred a plain dial.
I am quite happy with the round bezel, but I also loved the flat one, so, not a big deal.
I prefer the laquered moonphase disc. I find it more qualitative.
It is up to you to discuss the Watch, now.

I am confused........
So are we announcing a 42mm Duo a QL or a new 40.5?
Because in home page there are two posts;this one and one on the Ql 40.5 with a link that leads to this one.
So a new 42mm QL with rounded bezel?( like the first 40.5,then the enamel but even the new Chronograph has it, if I am not mistaken..)
-I like the new bezel,even if I don t dislike the straight one especially in my black version...
-The new disc? a wonderful ++++++ the one I have is the weak point f my watch..I tried to ask for a swap but ,as usual,like we discussed a couple of days ago, it s a big NO/Anathema?VADE RETRO..cant do it,IMPOSSIBLE.....pfffff
-the openings?if it is a 42 mm version it keeps them like the original version(not a fan of hem at all),if it is a 40.5 version this is a novelty.I prefer the plain dial a la 40.5 first model.....also the chronograph had a version with openings(not nice)...
So Yes 2 good aesthetic ++ but the main issue here is that ,IF someone reads my post, he will be very confused..you need to really know JLC to make sense of what I said...unfortunately JLC did it again and diluted and confused the message even more with ANOTHER version of a great watch...
JLC is its worst enemy ,they do that very well..Why rewriting the same model over and over with minor changes?stick to your watches,have pride!Or change the version altogether...

According to my informations, it is a 42 mm case.
I agree with you that waving in the style and in the diameter is not a clear message from JLC.
I would rather prefer seeing them sticking to their model, or bringing some significative changes such as the QL enamel.

If you make a list of the versions of the same models....
Duo a Chronograph rose gold 42mm:
-Original version,then a different dial and texture,then a round bezel one,then one with apertures...
Duo A QL rose gold 42mm:
-Original version,then 40.5(ok this I accept even if i don t like it much in Rg,it makes sense with enamel dial),then change of dial and texture,then this version with round bezel ,then different moon disc ..
So I am not talking of different metals or versions ,but little tweaks of the same watch...mmm
By the way are the new 40.5 version going to have this new moon disc?That will make sense,even if....we will have another version...

It looks attractive to me; thr round bezel & lacquered moon are assets.. The increasing trouble I have, is to keep versions/years defined & clear.. ;))
Thus, currently I am still confused,
but on a higher level !..

Incremental evolution ...
Always confuses us a bit but, no matter what version, the Duo is IMHO the most daring and beautiful watch that a non-billionaire can dream.
Of course, I have my favorite, that is the chronograph. Moon phase seems to be way simple to this wonderful base movement.

The moonphase is a pretext here, the main goal of this Duometre being accuracy.
But I am sure JLC will be interested in reading how much people is confused with all these variations.

It is utterly confusing, but the real pity is that there are no Duometres with WG cases with black dials in a 40.5 mm case!
If they had a QL or chronographe with those specifications, I would have got one yesterday!
The First Rounded Bezel...
It's excellent that we have posts to record small running changes to signature models like the Duometre. As with other prolific fast-changing model lines like the Extreme World Chrono and Amvox2, it eventually becomes necessary to aggregate all of the changes into some kind of master reference post for the series. I'll see if I can begin to compile one for the Duometre from the material we've posted since 2007...
Regarding the emergence of the rounded bezel, it certainly appeared on the white gold Grand Feu, but doesn't it appear to have featured even earlier in the series on the 2011 rose gold launch model of the 40.5 mm QL?
It may be a trick of the light on the smaller proportions, but that initial 40.5mm variant appears to feature the same domed rather than conical bezel. I like it, but it seems to be a lateral move for the design, neither better nor worse.

Very happily confused!
The duometre is a mechanical marvel and a pretty one at that - be it the moonphase, chronograph or universal time complications.
Hopefully there will be more 40.5 mm models as they wear pretty big
