Horological Meandering

Welcome back Nilo!! Could you believe...

 By: Subexplorer : June 4th, 2014-14:03
... that this same morning I was wondering what had happened to you, and missing your wonderful photography?

I imagined something related with hard work as I also am having some trouble lately to visit here and participate in threads and in W/S.

I´m happy to read you again, and view your photography.
I send my most warm welcome and my kind regards, Abel.

Thank you Abel ...

Are you getting ready to the World Cup?

I'm seeing, "as we speak", Argentina training against Trinidad Tobago and Messi just helped the second goal.

Cheers,

Nilo

Ahhh Nilo

Great to see you back. Months ago when I hadn't seen you post for a while, I was extremely worried and dropped a note to MTF. After a while he got back to me and assured me that all was well, you are fine, and he would make an announcement soon.

Did you let the New Vintage go? Glad to see the absolutely gorgeous, and under-appreciated (on this forum) Portuguese.

Hope you have not abandoned Zenith, and would love to hear your thoughts on this year's novelties, the sudden move to outsource movement for some watches, and the CEO musical chairs.

Dean

Hello Dean ...

As I stated on the original post, I'm more busy than I like but I cannot resist "the business".

About the New Vintage, please don't remember me. Gone, the SS and the Ti.

My new phase demands brand presence where I live and Zenith is not here.

I didn't had any exposure to the Zenith 2014 novelties, except by pictures, and they seem so so.

About Zenith to use ETA or Selita, there is some logic behind.

I don't know what happened with Zenith (or with Rolex) but I'm curious to see the results.

I'm seeing a not so bright future for the overall industry.
Prices are sky high and we all see a trend for more about the same.
Profits are meager and we may have a crisis soon.

Let's wait and see.

Cheers,

Nilo

Hello Again Nilo! Thank you for your kind answer! regarding...

 By: Subexplorer : June 5th, 2014-05:27
... football and Wordl Cup:  I´m not very fond of this sport and don´t usually pay much attention, in spite of being the most popular sport here and most of my friends are really fans of any of the local teams.

BUT in every World Cup I enjoy watching the matches where Argentina plays, and I wish this year we will make a good participation. We have been deeply frustrated in last previous WC of course.

I must say that I don´t find much enthusiasm or talking here among my friends or people in general about the next WC, in spite of all TV advertising and Sport TV shows dealing with it.

Ok, let´s see what happens in a very few days!
Have a great day and receive my best cordial regards, Abel.

Same with me ...

I believe that football (or soccer) is way too much tainted with corruption, fixed games etc.

I'm not seeing with good eyes the World Cup played here. The government should have other priorities than to make huge arenas.

In any case, let's wait and see.

Cheers,

Nilo

Great

Some Seiko Nuggets in your post!

 By: cazalea : June 5th, 2014-17:56
"I continue to own some Seikos (I never sell/trade a Seiko) and when I got time, I plan to post my set. "

"Using this method, I ended with only three brands (Seiko don’t count – everyone must have at least one or two or more) that have models that really fit my taste and style"

"Marinemaster  I love this Seiko. Perfect, IMHO"

I would love to see your set, and I speak with confidence that Seiko would be very happy if every one of us had one or two or more Seikos! Especially if they were Marinemasters ...

(Thankfully you put the "or more" in there, or I would have to dispose of 30 or so to get down to two!)

All the best and hoping to see you visiting the Seiko zone!

Cheers,

Mike aka Cazalea

Thank you Mike ...

My Seiko set is minimal (six pieces) but I'm dreaming with a GS.

Who knows? Someday one shows up here.

Cheers,

Nilo

No time for planed pictures.
