Was googling and chanced upon a nice review of my vintage Breitling Datora 785 based on a thread had posted here. Nice recap of my hunt and also a great reminder about all that this beautiful hobby of ours has to offer!

It is possible that PakSu assumed you were anonymously posting links to your own YouTube videos, but as you say that is not the case. Even so, I would expect a less barbed comment than "Sad ... how about get a life". That is not something you would want to be said to you, nor something you would say face to face to someone at a dinner party. And it is not appropriate on PuristS.
The other complication is that Paul Pluta (aka Archie Luxury) has a long and chequered history with his YouTube channel. Most don't know whether to take home seriously or if he is one of the best horological satirists on the interweb. In fact I think Patek or Vacheron should invite him to their end of year Christmas party to deliver a stand up comedy routine! Paul appears to take a very superficial view of luxury items and brands that is inconsistent with PuristS standards. But on the surface there is nothing wrong with his video review of your Breitling and he appropriately attributes the source of the photos and information.

Thanks Andrew, true. I didn't know about his history till some pointed me to his previous postings. Looks like he's had a long run in with quite a few watch enthusiasts but surprisingly didn't have anything bad to say about vintage Breitlings.

I am really starting to crave a nice vintage Breitling with good patination. Perhaps an 806 "All Black" dial.
Shame I can't see the video "YouTube" is blocked in this country.
No idea what the motivation was for the strange comment, but as others have said, not representative of this community.
