The mega 'table-shot' photo thread
Table shots are a tradition at watch get-togethers the world over; a way of remembering who was there and with which watches.
Table shots are posted all over PuristS, but I thought it would be fun to bring our favourites together in the one mega-thread.
So search your archives and start posting.
And the more adventurous can try and work out who might have been at each GTG from the watches displayed

Quite an amazing table shot... kudos to the guy who came with the Accutron!!!
I'll take that as a compliment :-)
It's an electo-mechanical engineering wonder. And way before its time.
+1 -- that's what caught my eye as well -- just last week...
... I visited a preowned dealer in NYC and saw several Accutrons that gave me that usual, "One day I need to finally pull the trigger on one of those" reaction.
Compilations of pictures like these
only goes to cement the unsuspecting viewers' viewpoint about the madness of our hobby. For the rest of us, this is inspiration and even a cause for excitement and celebration!

I would be interested to hear why ...
... vintage is so popular in Indonesia. I find it fascinating that different cultures are attracted to different types and styles: independents, sports watches, diamond encrusted, modern, etc. Of course there is huge overlap, but there does seem to be some 'cultural generalizations' to be made. And PuristS, being so multicultural in our membership, may be in a good position to tease this out and understand it better.

I would say that indonesia culture does have something to do with vintage being more popular.
As a country, we are very much multi cultural. And quite a long history. Our culture is rich in tradition and tradition and art usually comes hand in hand.
Vintage watches has a classical feel which does appeal to our culture.
But i do belief Vintage watches in general is the most " Natural Design" , its a design that is suppose to be. Unlike modern design which sometimes is "forced" and lost its
true root. A very simple experiment will prove it. Take a paulnewman daytona into a Rolex AD, put a modern daytona on your right wrist. Compare both watches. 9 out of 10
will pick the PN. It is a " natural design" which has universal appeal. Do the same with a sub. Result will be similar.

Funny that I was just lamenting to Blomman that many of these table shots are taken in bad lighting at the end of the evening. The IGOTT2 table shot was done on the last evening of the 4 day extravaganza at the Mont Blanc dinner with truly terrible red lighting. Of course the dinner, watches and camaraderie were superb, but we couldn't present the watches to their best effect. For IGOTT 3 we need to do the table shot in the middle of the meeting and during the day!

I like these 'table shot' variations. Great photo, Blomman.
Lovely to see something different to the watches layered over a table. I am thinking of a mega wrist shot with all wrists within the one image - something like a horological game of twister! The difficulty can be the most GTG occur in dark restaurants after hours and we have all drink too much - you photo attests to that!
