Anyway... It is good.

...under the leadership of Vince Lapaire, whom I believe is of a Cartier background. They still operate, but on a scale that is tiny compared to what they deserve.
They actually released a new in-house microtor movement a couple of years back, UG 101 Calibre I think, I saw them at baselworld 2009 and I thought they were excellent.
Check them out!

Dan
.... .i have a single crown supercompressor UN polerouter and i think the movements are great. well bought that man. although i would have done a bit of research before i bought it especially at the price they seem to sell for.

the outside of the case and the obvious wear on the caseback are in keeping with the condition of the movement. the caseback should have the polerouter engraving on it, but that is worn away. mine is also pretty much worn away. i cant offer a good reason why the inside of caseback looks so much better than the rest of it, but it looks original from the outside. i also thing the dial and hands look original with the detail we have, but more importantly i think the post is a fishing trip so i wont comment any further.
as Amanico said, a please and thankyou wouldnt go amiss as we spend valuable time giving our opinions and experience to help people gain the information they need.

Well said!
But at least all the words of wisdom here are read by many others than only the posters. I for one greatly enjoyed the inputs given in this thread.
Gratefully yours
Nikolaj

if you had started off with a please and thankyou, the minimum you would do if you were talking to us face to face and then responded when we spent our valuable time giving you our unbiased opinions of this quite nice watch i would have been less inclined to have thought what i did. on this forum we always treat people as we would like to be treated. ie in a polite and respectful way. we do get a few people who post here who are on fishing trips to find out what they can before offering a watch for sale or for other reasons so it is something that goes through ones mind.
i have never spoken on line to you before so i apologise if i have written anything which upset you. please take the time to read back everything that has been written from your first post onwards and look at it as if you were one of the people being asked to help you out. then think about how you would react if you'd spent time replying to your post without a please, thankyou and no response to the people after their posts.
having done that you might think that you could have done things differently to start with which would have made me and probably others react in a different way.

Graham
I collect watches as a hobby. I have I have at least 10 Universal Geneve vintage watches! Tri-compax, areo-compax, uni-compax etc...I've always wanted a UG Polerouter Sub. Bought one online and wanted you experts out there your opinions. Thanks to EVERYONE who responded! I've examined the watch very carefully. It's looks good, but I only wish I had a %100 mint one to compare it too. The asians and europeans can make some very good Frankenwatches these days. It's hard to believe that they would put so much effort to fake a UG, as opposed to a Rolex or PP. But you never know. I've looked at MANY pictures of Polerouters Sub online. They all look VERY similar to mine. I'm leaning that the watch is genuine, but I'm going to show it to dealer here in Houston, that is an expert on copies. I've been very busy at work, that why I've not had time to respond to the posts made. Thanks again,
Roland
