I apologize if I can't post this question here, I'm still new to the site LOL, But I want to know what watch or watches are on your wish list?

Here's mines what do you think? Like it Don't like it. Also what are your thoughts on the Citizen Campanola line & Seiko Spring Drive, Especially their Sonnerie?

it does not delete itself anymore from my"hard disk", really dangerous!

technology is quite something else.  You have to see for yourself how smooth the second hand moves.  Very accurate as well.

No need to be sorry, my friend, but since you want to discuss about watches whose brands don't have a specific forum, you may post your thread on " Horological Meandering ".

As for your question, it is abit hard to answer, because I have so many in my wish list, Vintage and Moderns, expensive or affordable.

I will only take 2 examples:

Among the Vintage watches, I'd like a lot to find a JLC Polaris 65, the vintage one, or an Omega Railmaster.

On the moderns, I'd like to get a JLC Memo black dial from the 90ies, or a Lange Cabaret platinum, with the black dial.

THere are may other watches, more expensive, too, but the list could be exhaustive...



Now, as for the watch on the pic, it si not my cup of tea, because the dial is too tortured for me, but we're not obliged to drink the same tea!

[photo courtesy of Graham] I'm hoping that the latest generation of Omega movements will make it's way into the Railmaster next year. The other new design that is in current production (but which I haven't seen in the metal yet) is the Eterna Madison Spherodrive . . .

. . . which appeals on every level. I'd give the edge to the Railmaster, but if a cal 8500 version doesn't appear next year, then the Eterna moves to the top of the list. There is a 'vintage' Glashütte Original that I'd love to own, one of the limited edition 1845 Karrees from 2003/2004 in either steel . . .

Regarding Seiko: count me as a huge fan as they offer outstanding quality and value. There are currently two vintage Seikos in the watch box . . .

I did'nt even noticed they was a section called HorologicalMEandering I'll try to remember next time I happen to own a Seiko Orange Monster my first Seiko too by the why, I also own a Citizen Minute Repeater, and a Seiko World timer. I call my world Timer the poor mans Girard Perregaux WW.TC LOL.

Those Seikos are very nice, and I especially like the black one (a Sea Lion, perhaps?). I agree completely about the value to be found in vintage Seikos, and, while subjective, I find their design aesthetic during the sixties to be, broadly speaking, second to none.

. . . yes, it is a Sea Lion, and is now in good running condition . . . kind of amazing, considering that it was worn regularly for forty years before the date module finally seized up due to neglect. Fortunately, my watchmaker had an identical movement in his parts box, so the calendar functions are back to normal, and it keeps reasonably decent time. Best regards, Art

Beautiful new Lange! Can you comment on the offset of the datewheels second number? Is it as much of visual difference as the macros look? I am no one to critique such a masterpiece but I wished they did the GO like integration of the second number.

.... unfortunately, the list I could make, would be longer than a list of watches I own.
The following is a list of some of the watches I watch until they are cought.
What I can say is, that I basically prefer simple dials. I own a Rolex Daytona but rarely use it due to the complex dial and missing date. I can live without a date, but not without a second hand.

Omega calibre 560. There are only 3000 calibre made for the US and only a dozen variants. These spread on Seamsters, calendar, Dynamic and Geneve types. I am trying to get one of each variant. I miss 3

I hear you, and to make matters worse the list is in constant flux.   My new years resolution should be to commit to purchases more

...and am a happy owner of a Seiko 5.  I don't know much about the Citizens, but I'd like to see the Seiko Spring Drive Ananta GMT in the metal.  The Credor Sonnerie looks and sounds amazing (from videos).  Another watch that would most likely be breathtaking in person.

As for the wishlist, there are so many watches I'd love to own, but some pieces that have captured my attention in a serious way are the Glashutte Original Senator Sixties, and a couple different JLCs (Master Eight Days and Master Compressor GMT being only two).

after what has happened to me in the last few months i would happily give up every watch i own to have a lifetime of happiness. i havent written this for sympathy, but so that those who read it can think about what is really important in life. Watches are an important part of all our lives, but certainly not THE most important. had i realised it sooner i may not be where i am today, but such is life. we must look forward to the future and make sure we give enough time to the ones we love first and foremost.

but i'd love an Amvox2 as well

a huge rotating collection that covers all Purists worldwide; supported by an enormous Fedex-like network that swaps watches about so no watch goes unworn or un-praised by a person that admires and enjoys its design.

This might kill some of the manufacturers, but others would adapt to it. The lawyers in our midst could make hay setting up the agreements and legal protections.

And also a group of warehouses of unlimited size and computerized retrieval systems of sufficient robustness that all the boxes and packages can be safely stored there in cool dark places.

This would address Graham's issue too, as all spousal conflicts would immediately evaporate. Unless they got the hots for the watch delivery person ... guess the watches would have to be delivered to my work ...

whats happening to those luxury car club nowadays as their experience and biz model could be considered for luxury watches club too. Better yet, i secretly hope watchmakers could do what future shops do, let u experience it for 2 weeks b4 u making decision whether to keep or not:p  or a leasing program could be good too!
